I went cheap since I only stayed in Bastia for a night…too cheap. The “room” is a closet with a bathroom. There is barely space to put the luggage down and open it. The shower was so small that I couldn’t spread my elbows while washing my hair. AND the room is on the 3rd floor with no elevator. There are not many noticeable restaurants close to the hotel, so guests need to rely more on the hotel restaurant, which serve passable food. I will definitely invest a bit more for a better hotel next time.

Indeed the staff is really nice, there's easy free parking, cute rooftop, ac and the rooms are clean but I don't know if we were unlucky as our room was quite small and the shower space was the tinniest I've ever seen. It's a convenient stay for one night only but don't expect super comfortable.

The food at the restaurant was amazing also the staff attentiveness and customer service. Unfortunately the hotel is a bit old, and there were no lifts. It’s also right by the roadside so road facing rooms will be a bit noisy.

More positive than negative, & A1 for the $$.
A little old, a little small but somwhow, the staff helped make this a good stay. The wifi was strong in the lobby / lounge, but poor in my room. The menu in the restaurant was short, but the food good. Buffet breakfast was not that elaborate, but ok. The shower was tiny, but no shortage of warm water. The mastress was a little bit hommock like. The street was pretty busy but the windows did an excellent job cutting noise, and keeping the light out when I wanted it. Overall, even if the hotel is dating, my impressions are positive!!

We left rather than stay
We did not spend the night. I have asked for a refund. This hotel is not acceptable. We checked out a much nicer hotel down the street for half the price that we seriously considered. We decided to keep trying & found a really nice hotel for more money. At that point it was late, we were frustrated, & we chose to spend more money for a fabulous experience. My point is that there are better places for half the cost & there are really nice places for double the cost. This hotel should not be considered.

Hello, you book a room in a hotel without saying that you have asthma while the proposed room of 35 m2 which was certainly on the ground floor had a terrace. You are given another solution that you refuse in the process. The free cancellation policy is 2 days before your arrival and you knew it very well. So leave a comment without even staying in the establishment is called free cowardice and nasty. I hope you can wake up tomorrow morning looking at yourself in the mirror without flinching. For information, the South Hotel is one of the cheapest hotels in Bastia, so you can avoid continuing to lie shamelessly. Cordially. The direction of Sud Hotel

Good one night stay
Enjoyed a one night stay here. Hotel is quite basic but staff were frienldly and room clean and comfortable. No lift at property. Breakfast was good and taken in a nice patio area. Ample free parking. About 20 minute walk into town.

Friendly, modern and immaculate hotel
Very impressed with the high level of service and the cleanliness of the Sud Hotel. The shower room was tasteful and brand new, the room with TV (only French and Italian channels) was spacious and everywhere was fresh and modern. There is a lovely open air patio area with a fountain where you could have breakfast etc outdoors. Breakfast and evening meal were both self service and good quality and staff were nearby to advise. There is also a small bar. It is 20 minute walk into central Bastia but there is a very economical number 1 bus every 10 minutes virtually from the door. Plenty of free parking opposite the hotel too. Rooms to the front have sea view but are a bit noisy being on the main road but it quietens down at night. Overall a clean and fresh feeling hotel which is made special by the efficient and helpful team of staff.

So let me start with the fact that this is a great location. Very close to the city center, but far enough away to avoid crowds and has its own parking. The front desk was very good to me during my stay. The first room we stayed in had a bit of a scent (I think maybe was just the heater?) but the front desk immediately moved us to another room, that was much better. Rooms are cozy but I wouldn't say too small. Oh and breakfast was great! Simple setup, but cute and with some very good croissants and confitures.

Convenient for early morning airport departure.
Found hotel quite easily. Reception staff very helpful and welcoming. Room whilst not huge was perfectly acceptable for a one night stay. Clean with air conditioning tv and a good shower. Nice little enclosed terrace for a drink before a reasonable buffet style evening meal with wine. 15 minutes to the airport. Would certainly use hotel sud again for an early morning flight from Bastia Poretta.

Convenient if staying just outside of Bastia
We went in early October which is just out of season - the way we like it. As such the hotel wasn't particularly busy. Parking was available but a little lacking and probably would be much more difficult in high season. The staff were very friendly. Our room was at the front of the hotel and as such there was a lot of road noise. However, once the shutters, and double-glazed windows were shut it wasn't too bad. The room was small but fine for our needs.

We stayed at this hotel as an overnight stop off before getting the ferry from Bastia port the next morning. The room was clean and had two double beds. Hotel staff were friendly and polite. There aren't very many restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, so you need to drive into the centre of Bastia - about 5 minutes.

Stayed here as I had business in Furiani and this was halfway between there and town. Not that staff seem to know this, nor the Bastia Tourist Office, but it's near the Bassanese stop (little more than a rubbish-stewn concrete shelter and platform) on the main train line – one stop down is L'Arinella, the city beach. Standard low- to mid-range hotel, decent room with a welcome little balcony. Remains lower mid-range due to annoying touches such as watered-down soap in dispensers instead of complimentary bars, WiFi not working etc etc. In-house restaurant the only one in the immediate vicinity, though the unpromising takeaway pizzeria (with outdoor tables) opposite surprisingly good. Staff decent, though was charged more than I reserved for through Expedia. If your visit is entirely centred around Bastia, not worth posting yourself out here unless there's a huge difference in price. For the beach and Furiani though, providing you can flag down the train as it approaches, an overall pleasant and affordable stay.

20minute walk from the Old Port (Not the Port where all the ferries go into)
Hotel OK, far out of town. 10 taxi ride to the old port, which if you come by ferry from mainland france is the closest port as marked on the map. Basic and a bit smelly. Friendly and helpful reception staff.
