The staff didn't know how to check us in from Wotif. Didn't end up getting much sleep as the music was blaring all night. The room was fine just a very loud place to stay. I may have just stayed on a noisy night (Wednesday).

We stayed in a suite, the room size was excellent, the bed very comfortable and warm. The air con worked well and the mini kitchen was adequate for a short stay. The staff where friendly and helpful. Would stay there again.

Potential for a unique experience. Quirky, time warp. People working there are slowly moving towards something special. Very clean, quite comfortable but work to do. I'd stay again, and am very interested to see where they take the Monarch

We booked this property through lastminute. We booked a deluxe queen room. When we arrived we were given a standard double with no aircon. And the manager charged an extra $10. When I showed him my booking he agreed we were given the wrong room but that he had no others available. I asked for my money back and I cancelled the booking and left.

This accommodation is better than the average roadside motel at the same price. If the owners decided to go all the way down the 40s-50s experience this property could be a real stand-out.

Is a Hostel not a Hotel

Is no where near 3 Stars is a Hostel. Reception on arrival was short & Sharp. When discovered room type and standard was forced to pay addition for a better room which was lucky to be 3 Star standard. Very old and tired.
