"The hotel was not able to honor my booking-- the rooms we booked were not available . No manager was on the site and the only staff who was there was not able to validate our Expedia booking. Alternate rooms they suggested were terrible. We ended up securing rooms in a different facility. "

"This isn’t luxury. This property isn’t as advertised; don’t be fooled by the pictures. It’s burning but luxury. It’s basically a scam. 1. The beach isn’t private. 2. The place is a construction site with vast areas incomplete, and covered by straw mats 3. There were cockroaches in the room, and insects too. The doors are not properly done, there’s huge spaces at the top and under the doors, so the mosquitoes and insects just keep coming, even after you spray. 4. The restaurant was dusty - clearly the place isn’t frequently visited - so they only clean the rooms and areas when a guest arrives. The staff look genuinely surprised to see a guest - 5. There’s just one lady at the front desk who also doubles as the cleaner, waiter, butler, everything other than chef and security. She resumes work at 9am, closes at 5 or 6 - can’t remember. And you’re basically on your own until she resumes. 6. There’s no alcohol at the bar. Zero alcohol - you would think this would be clearly advertised and guests would be informed? No. You get there before you get told there’s no alcoholic drinks at the bar. 7. Overall, it’s just such a disappointing and pretentious place that’s charging a lot of money for nothing. I actually ended up cutting my stay short and moving to another resort - and I’m very glad I did. "

"La Villa Aphro was our home away from home. The tucked away boutique resort felt like our own personal Air B and B. Upon arrival we were welcomed with a delightful welcome native drink that I wanted to drink the entire trip. My. Husband arrived with an upset stomach from our united airlines flight from IAD. Staff immediately jump to action showed to our room and made him two drinks. A special ginger drink the bartender put together and seltzer. My husband slept and was felling back to his self by dinner. We booked the Luxury Chalet which had breath taking view of the ocean. Just as pictured. The food was amazing we didn’t do the full board but everything was very affordable. Breakfast was filled with fresh pastries every morning and an assortment of local fruits. As well as some other traditional Ghanaian, as well some more American known eggs, sausages and pancakes. Each meal could felt like a small feast for my husband and we could barely finish. This trip and celebration for my 40th birthday and omg I don’t know what my husband told them but when we returned from are nightmare dinner at the Polo club restaurant and lounge they totally made up for it. From rose petals on the bed spelling how Happy Birthday with my name and balloon decorations with a beautiful cake. I felt like Royalty my entire stay. I slept so peacefully listening to the waves crashing always. If you’re looking for a peaceful quiet getaway I highly suggest La Villa Aphro Ghana. I could go on and on. "
