"I really enjoyed my three-day stay at the Garrison Hotel. My room was very nice. Large, with 2 queen beds and nice pillows, modern lighting, large bathroom with a big lighted mirror, nice TV with a large selection of channels, and a big residential refrigerator plus a small one by the bathroom. Check in was quick and easy, lobby was clean and modern. They had a breakfast on the weekend although this time I didn't try it. There is also a nice indoor pool, but again I didn't try it out. All doors had a scan to unlock device that worked. If I had one complaint it would be that there was no microwave in my room, easy fix if management decides to correct this."

"First, the woman at the daytime front desk was extremely helpful in every way. We were with family for a wedding. We flew into Mpls 2 days early and drove to Baxter. Check in went smoothly. The desk clerk was able to accommodate our request for all 3 rooms to be on the same floor, in spite of a high capacity weekend. The rooms are basic. It is obvious that the hotel is older and a bit worn. Our room smelled mildly of smoke when we entered (non smoking room) but overall wasn’t bothersome. The bed was comfortable and the room quiet at night. Temp is controlled by a unit in the wall which was adequate, though loud. We found the breakfast to be very complete with a wide variety of choices. The location of the hotel is very convenient to all kinds of restaurants and shopping. We were looking for a group activity on Friday and the desk clerk mentioned the Haunted Trails event at the Northland Arboretum. Our family group included a 15 year old, 7 year old and 4 year old. We followed her suggestion and attended that event on Friday night and had a blast!"

"My room faced a Circle K and the Window "curtains" were not good enough to block out the signage. I do not believe the window treatments were good enough to darken the room. Otherwise great place. Best "free motel" breakfast ever!"
