"The lady who welcomed us was very nice and polite. We had reservations for a king bed and got switched to double queen. Which was not a bad thing.
We did not want a themed room.
The room was fine. It had newer carpet and the typical things, mini fridge and a microwave. The beds are extra firm and the towels are so thin you almost needed 2 after a shower. The shower was fine, but the shower head with water saving restriction made less than enjoyable. The walls are thin and thank goodness we had a wa to play some white noise because without it we could hear the neighbors coughing and snoring.
Also the room had no updates like usb ports, and only 1 place to plug devices in between the beds. So not convenient at all.
The best part was the air conditioning. It worked! Also the breakfast was very simple but good. The waffle machine makes fun tiny waffles. Not a huge selection but it is fine.
Overall not place we would run back to, but not so bad we would avoid it."
"We have stayed here several times over the years during family reunions at Camp Pine Lake. The motel is consistently clean and comfortable. I noticed the bathroom had been upgraded since our last stay.
I was especially grateful to the staff this year for kindly mailing to me an item I had forgotten after our stay. They go above and beyond to provide excellent guest service."
"Great breakfast was definitely more than most hotels everything was great! The bathrooms could use a little face lift but still clean and comfortable. Nice gym with an attached Mexican restaurant"
"The room was clean and the air was cold, but the water pressure isn't the best. The bathtubs need to have some anti slip grips put in them as a little soap makes them slick."
"I stayed for one night just passing through Iowa. I am a clean freak and happy to say my room was spotless. The bed was comfortable, the hotel was clean and unique. It is not typical, meaning there was no front desk. I arrived just before 9pm, I was given the keys by the restaurant workers who were very friendly and polite. Not sure how that would work after closing, but I'm sure they have a method. Overall, nice stay. "
