"Arrived at hotel to be given a room number 368 that didn’t exist, not a good start after a long journey. Booked in for dinner at hotel restaurant, service was okay but food was disappointing in terms of quantity and not prepared as described by the menu. When this was pointed out to the staff we were told that the menu was changing next week and so this shouldn’t happen again, not good. Our room was very warm, there was no heating on, but when we opened the window to let in some cooler air we realised we were close to the kitchen extract fan pumping out a greasy and unpleasant smell. Overall very disappointing as we use Hilton Double Tree hotels regularly and this particular hotel was not up to the expected standard I’m afraid."

"Beautiful property. Pulling in the drive is stunning. The interior is well decorated. The building itself is obviously older and it shows in certain areas: the toilet was unreliable, small cracks, bit of discolouration on tiles, and the pool floor isn’t sealed well so it has bumps and bounces. The room we booked for a family was perfect. The separation wall made the room feel much bigger and the kids loved having their own space. The TV selection was very basic and the TVs themselves were very slow. The staff were all wonderful and very helpful. I did have to ask a lot of questions as some information wasn’t given initially but it wasn’t too inconvenient. The swim times for children was a bit annoying because we had to plan our day around it but I understand why they’re in place. We just would have liked a bit more freedom to choose when we wanted to go rather than set times. The bed we had wasn’t super comfortable, the mattress slanted on the edge. The pillows desperately need an update. They were very flat and offered no support. However the kids single beds were comfortable for them. The restaurant menu looked good but was expensive so we chose to eat elsewhere. Except for dessert which we did get through room service. The sticky toffee pudding was top 3 best we ever had. The grounds are vast and great for a wander. Overall, good stay. We would stay again as the experience itself outweighed any issues we had."

"Enjoyed stay. Better value than some other similar hotels nearby. Close to town centre. Also like to give thanks to reception staff who who very helpful, kindly charging my iPhone in their office for me when it ran out charge. "

"Breakfast was the best we have ever had in a hotel. Everything fresh, hot(where required) staff attentive and polite. Car parking on site very good. Rooms were clean large and everything you could need. Tea coffee milk endless supply if needed."
