"My main complaint is that there wasn’t really any hot water over the two days of a stay. In an area that gets some rain, not having an umbrella that could be borrowed was a little bit disappointing. Otherwise the place was good and the bed was so comfortable!"

"Clean and comfortable room, everything worked. Not a large room but big enough for two suitcases and other bags without tripping over them. En suite bathroom with towels and toiletries, but basin plug missing. The motel is quite close to the main road north into the Kootenays so there is some noise from trucks on this route (several motels are on this road). As with other motels there are no window blinds so it's necessary to keep the curtains drawn for privacy (we had a ground floor room for our four night stay). Parking available immediately outside the room. Housekeeping available on request. Breakfast available at the Screamers Diner about a 10 minute walk away: three modest if tasty choices included in the rate, or the option to upgrade to other menu options. Friendly owner on reception who let us borrow a kettle as the room has a coffee maker only. Towels provided for use at the Hot Springs. We dined at the Old Salzburg and Goat Street restaurants which are close by - but consider making a reservation to secure a table at your preferred time. The Kootenay Park entrance is a short drive away. Radium was a good base from which to access the Kootenays NP, Banff NP and Yoho NP."

The Orchard Hostel Private Bunks

"Space was clean and quiet. The bed was comfy (I recommend paying extra for the bottom bunk with the wooden sliding door, as the upper bunk doesn't have guard rails). For one person the bottom double bunk doesn't get too warm, and it's fairly spacious for a hostel. overall my stay was great, but only because there weren't many people staying here. If it was full the kitchen facilities would be almost impossible as there is just one induction stove burner, one toaster oven, and just a single microwave. The kitchen facilities are also on the same floor as the beds. Overall would recommend, as long as you are just looking for a bed, It's not a social place."
