Ventozelo Hotel & Quinta
10/10 Excellent
"Absolutely superb and relaxing!! Our stay at Ventozelo exceeded our expectations! The scenery, the staff, the service, the food, our room made for an ideal atmosphere for us to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We didn’t want to leave! The staff are so kind and warm and took very good care of us. The cantina was one of our favorite spots for dinner and just watching the sun set while drinking wine and listening to their music. We didn’t try the pool but it looked beautiful. We stayed in one of the bubble houses with a patio and our own living room. Beautiful accommodations. It was very easy to stay here and enjoy the wine tour and walk around the property. Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again if we come back."

Quinta Manhas Douro
10/10 Excellent
"Beautiful place to stay. Phillip and his mom (and the whole staff) go out of their way to make you comfortable. We were in a room with the view of a lifetime! Homecooked meals for dinner, and the breakfast had fresh bread brought from the local bakery which was the best we had in Portugal. Pool was so refreshing, we were there during a heatwave. Air-conditioning in the room worked well. Bed was comfortable."

Quinta de la Rosa
10/10 Excellent
"We recently stayed at Quinta de la Rosa for three nights, having started our holiday in Porto. We took the train from Porto, which is a lovely way to enjoy the Douro Valley. On arrival we were able to get a taxi from outside the station and 10 minutes later were at the Quinta. Descriptions suggest this is not a hotel but rather a rustic retreat but it is carefully curated and standards are pretty high. Our suite overlooked the river and was very comfortable and quiet. There are apparently 20 rooms on site but, apart from the restaurant at breakfast or in the evening, it never felt as though there were lots of people around though people are arriving and departing all the time. It is the perfect base for a couple of days to really soak up the atmosphere of this part of the Douro Valley and a trip on the train from Pinhao to Pochino is a great way to spend a few hours as it becomes even more picturesque further along the river. There are a number of port wine houses offering tastings (Quinta das Carvalhas across the bridge in town is well worth a visit for a relaxed tasting). Pinhao itself is rather disappointing given the numbers of visitors who pass through, with facilities rather limited and few places to eat. But don't let that detract from the Quinta, which is a little oasis of calm."

Vila Gale Douro Vineyards Hotel

Quinta de São Luiz - The Vine House
10/10 Excellent
"If you are considering visiting this vineyard, go all in and stay there! It’s the best spot in the region: the hotel, the restaurant, the vineyard in itself…top notch!!!"

Hotel Rural Quinta do Silval
10/10 Excellent
"Such a charming and beautiful place. And the staff (owners?) are absolutely lovely and attentive to all the guests. Highly recommend."

Quinta da Gricha
10/10 Excellent
"Probably the nicest and most idyllic place we’ve ever stayed, this was an exceptionally well kept and peaceful location to stay in the Douro. Telmo was so kind and helpful before and during our stay, as were all the staff. We had an excellent tour and tasting, and we decided to eat in both minus (a good decision). Can’t recommend highly enough."

LBV House Hotel

"Great location, clean, classy, the view from the pool area is exceptional. Breakfast was great, the staff was very helpful. Safe, locked garage for parking. You will not regret staying here!"
