"My treehouse room haven was exactly as I remember and I LOVE the large open windows to the property to listen to the wind, dozens of tropical birds, howler monkeys and the powerful thunderstorms of the Mayan Mountains. The bed and bedding are cozy and if you’re picky with your coffee… bring your own pour over for the room!!!
The staff is exceptional and always available to meet any need. A meal delivered to your room even if you’re picky, they smile and are so kind and polite!!! A personal touch of showing you the monkeys location in the morning down at the far scope on the dining room deck overlooking the river. Or offering to arrange a tour or a canoe on the river. Never missing a beat and always accommodating. Good regular brew is at the ready at the dining hall too… you have to get dressed though haha
The property is breath taking and very walkable with birds as mentioned, lots of reptiles, small animals and if you’re lucky maybe a Keel Billed Toucan!!!
The pools are both lovely and have a different feel so I recommend trying both.
Meals are exceptional… from the grilled steak, garlic mash & garden salad, afternoon wings and Caesar by the pool or evening curry with home made cheesecake all made with care and served with love!
Yep… love Dream Valley!!!"
"I had the pleasure of staying at the Mystic River Resort in Early June and the whole experience has made me fall in love with Belize. The property is immaculately maintained and incredibly clean, my room was upgraded free of charge which included a plunge pool on the balcony which definitely added to the experience !. The property overlooks the Macal river which adds an ethereal vibe to the whole experience and is surrounded by a myriad of varying wildlife. The staff really re-defined amazing hospitality for me, they were both kind and always went the extra mile whenever required no ask was too big or too small and they are true credit to the establishment, service was always presented with a smile and their was no forceful upselling and everything was done in a kind and appreciative manner. The food was also something out of this world with a selection of Belizean, American and both Mayan and Garifuna food available. The excursions on offer were also varied and exciting and health and safety was always prioritized and they were easy to book onto. I truly miss seeing the humming birds at breakfast flying in and out of the restaurant and the sound of the river and the toucans in the evening. Overall it has re-defined what true hospitality and experience means to me and have thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience so much so I cannot wait to return !."
"The staff was super helpful and very attentive. The 3 course dinner meal was not only convenient after a long day doing a tour but was delicious every night. The rooms were well cleaned and offered great views of the jungle. Truly unique experience."
"We had an incredible stay at Sleeping Giant Rainforest Lodge. The property itself is absolutely gorgeous and you can tell the team takes immense pride in it, as the grounds were constantly being meticulously maintained. The staff truly made our trip unforgettable. Every single employee was incredibly friendly and consistently went out of their way to be helpful. They made our logistics effortless, taking care of everything from seamless transportation arrangements to setting up our daily excursions. After a long day out in the Belizean heat and humidity, coming back to our room was a dream. The accommodations were spotlessly clean and wonderfully cool, providing the perfect, refreshing environment to rest and recharge. When it came to dining, the on-site restaurant was very good. We absolutely loved the breakfasts and dinners every day. The only minor critique is that the pizza was just average, but that wasn't an issue at all because their sister resort, The Belize Collection's The Banks, had outstanding food that we highly recommend trying.Overall, an amazing experience with top-tier service. We would absolutely stay here again!"
"Don’t give it another thought- book your stay at The Banks! I promise you won’t regret it! Beautiful property with no detail spared- Our family of four stayed at The Banks at the end of May for 3 nights and we wished we could have extended our stay. We stayed in a beautiful 3 bedroom villa on the river, the rooms were beautiful and spacious, very clean and we loved the outdoor showers. We also had our own plunge pool that was definitely larger than your average plunge pool. Humo, the restaurant onsite was delicious and had several options to choose from. We also visited the Sleeping Giant for dinner one evening and had wonderful pizza at Donatos. At The Banks we enjoyed kayaking down the Sibun River, riding bikes, and hiking. We rented a car from the BZE airport which I would highly recommend- this made it easy and convenient to take days trips- we visited St. Herman’s cave and did their tubing tour, the Blue Hole national park (amazing), Armenia (a local village nearby, we ate lunch at Hibiscus), and drove to the Mayan ruins- Xunantunich.
Special thanks to Gianni- our amazing bartender-he went above and beyond, Jessica the manager- she was so sweet and always asked about our day, and Jair one of our servers.
10 out of 10 recommend The Banks- you will love it!"
"Perfect stay for 4 travellers for 2 nights. Wasn’t large or fancy but suited our needs for the short stay, especially when we spent the day exploring and didn’t need to stay in the room. The owner/manager was absolutely helpful."
