"Rooms were clean staff excellent just don't eat there, the breakfast was probably worse than you could get from Farmfoods, a lot of it should be banned from human consumption yes the sausages! Then I had something from the Hungry Horse, yes I know it's cheap and get what you pay for (beer £6.75 though) but when I was asked how well done I'd like my mixed grill steak I almost chuckled and was right to do so. Perhaps they should ask how dry would you like it.
To make matters worse, they fcuked up my table number so the cr@p food was cold. I couldn't be bothered with the admin as I paid on company credit card.
B&B £71 you get what you pay for."
"First of all, the room was silent, which is a huge positive. Really quiet and peaceful. The ‘king size’ bed is an insult to customers intelligence. Pushing two single beds together and calling it a king size should be criminalised. Properties like this are charging premium prices for facilities, and then providing some hashed excuse which barely ticks the boxes. The internet access is generous and works well. Parking is confusing. Do you pay or not? The shower head was broken and both the bath and the sink plugs didn’t work properly. There were wine stains on the plastic cups next to the sink, meaning they’re attempting to wash and reuse plastic cups, albeit poorly, tea and coffee is ok, Kenco, so at least it’s not Nescafé original. Mould in the toilet where it is poorly maintained. The bed is the main issue for me. Very poor. I had a rubbish nights sleep, and this is all due to the bed. Awful."
"Visited whilst they are under some form of renovation, so lifts weren't working and it was a maze trying to find our rooms as there were no signs up. Lot's of construction mess everywhere.
Breakfast was pretty poor, sausages seemed to have been cooked for 5days as they were tough as anything.
Best thing was the evening meal in the restaurant, very nice food. The staff were all very polite and helpful.
Stayed here as we were visiting the historic dockyards and the location was perfect for this."
"Front desk staff especially Michelle is excellent but the guy there keeps on saying the water in the dispenser would be refilled but it never happened"
Holiday Inn Express Portsmouth - Gunwharf Quays by IHG
8/10 Good
"Nice comfortable and clean rooms. Great location, right in the centre of Gunwarf Quays.
The hotel also offers extra discounts to shops and restaurants for guests.
Parking was in the main carpark for Gunwarf, and if you validate at the hotel you get the first 24hrs for free and every day after for £2 (usually £28 for 24hrs)
Biggest highlight was Wayne on the bar, made us so welcome, gave good recommendations and made us a laugh."
