I had just stayed at the best of the budget hotels in Thamel for about half the price - and those hotels met all of your basic needs. I decided to splurge at the end for Dalai-la and it didn't disappoint. The staff was very accommodating (upgraded room, extra water), the breakfast was better, there was a nice yoga and a weight room for such a small hotel. The hotel service is awesome. They did everything to make our stay so pleasant. In our first stay, we arrived late and departed early to Lukla. They arranged the airport pickup. When we departed was too early to have the breakfast buffet they arranged a box with our breakfast. It was really nice.
