Good, basic stop over point.

No issues with Ava at all. It is what it is and if people come expecting the Ritz then they will be disappointed. We came expecting a clean, tidy and functional place to stay for the Grand Prix and that's what we got. Perfectly acceptable, clean and we got a good nights sleep every night while there.

Lock was broken on the patio door and so did not lock. Breakfast was fine- cereals, tea & coffee, juice and toast. Small twin is very small but fine for a night. Rooms at the back are quiet

einfache Unterkunft als Zwischenhalt

Check In erfolgte über einen Umschlag an Eingangstür mit Erklärungen und Code für die Tür. Kein persönlicher Kontakt während des Aufenthaltes mit dem Vermieter - Kommunikation erfolgte über angeklebte Informationen in den Räumen. Bilder des Internetauftrittes weichen sehr von der Realität ab. Im 3-Bett-Zimmer drei verschiedene Betten unterschiedlicher Qualität, beengte Verhältnisse. Sehr einfaches Frückstück in Self-Service, ohne Ergänzung - wenn weg dann weg, also früh aufstehen, bei Geschirr und Besteck ebenso

Bicester value.

Good points,- access instructions taped to front door, room clean and adequate, help yourself breakfast good, nice area, pub with good beer and food opposite, behind that a chippy, Co-op shop, launderette, bakery, Chinese take away, what more do you want. Bad point, - asked for quiet room but it was right on the front (busy road) and as it was in the very hot spell we had to have the windows wide open. Overall very good value and would stay again.

Good value and excellent choice.

Very good value including refreshments and toast and cereal for breakfast. Clean room with ensuite shower and toilet. Towels and small soap provided. TV and free wifi and small fridge. Off street parking available. Pub directly across the road food tasty and good value. Only suggestion as it has been so unusually warm recently it would be better if more windows opened. Thank you.

opposite a pub, overly warm room

We ended up abandoning our stay here - the room was far too hot to sleep in and the pub across the road was far too noisy as well as the very heavy traffic on the busy road outside.

Just about acceptable for the price

Just about acceptable for the price, would not want to stay more than a couple of days. My room was directly on a busy noisy road, as well as being over the entrance to the building. The service was all done my remote control: messages left, notices on walls etc: the place had an air more of a HMO than a B&B

Could and will do better?

Ava Guest House is clearly 'in transition'. The concept of 'get your own "continental breakfast" is OK and the kitchen/dining room space satisfactory. But the actual bedroom and shower were not good value for the price-point: tiny tv, fridge that doesn't have much point if you can't eat in the room, inconsistent water temperature in the shower, no basin plug. The walls as admitted are very thin too. The owners seem to be spending money gradually so hopefully things will improve.

Good overnight stay.

Room was adequate for an overnight stay. Nice kitchen facilities for self serve breakfast or a late night snack. Couple of eating places and small store just up the street was very convenient. Was great to have a small frig in the room.

Decent for the Price

A decent place to say with everything functional and without any trimmings. It’s very clean and tidy with decent, plain furnishing. It felt secure being there as you use a code to enter the building and to enter your personal room. Nothing felt cosy but it was comfortable enough. The bed had the right amount of firmness in a small room which had a large wall frame with a rail, hangers and hooks for your clothes. It was rather cold in the room on a typical 13°C day in April. The radiator wasn’t operating at the time. The TV worked well and showed a sharp picture and had a good range of channels. Unfortunately, the wifi did not work. The shower worked fine but wasn’t very powerful. It adjusted well for different temperatures. The bathroom was tiny though and it was a real challenge trying to use the sink to wash my face and not get the floor wet. Breakfast was very plain and simple. I just had some cereal from the cereal dispenser. To top it up, I went to the bakery, behind the the pub opposite, which had some nice items on offer and very friendly staff too. It was very useful to be able to park in the pub’s car park (opposite this B&B) for free. It didn’t seem like there was much to do within the immediate area, other than visit the large pub, the fish and chips shop and the bakery. All in all, I would stay at this establishment again, but only for a short period of time. Ava House, Bicester, Oxon, Oxfordshire.

A fair price in a expensive area for accommodation

It’s clean , And you can’t moan for the price , fridge in i your room , and free help yourself continental breakfast in the kitchen , where you can use the microwave etc to have some tea on a evening ,it’s ideal for people away from,

Nice b&b in a convenient location.

A nice quiet b&b near the town. Was very surprised that it was coded entry to main building and room. This was easier for my parents and myself as I could get in to assist them with their luggage when checking in and out. 24-7 tea and coffee facilities and continental breakfast in the mornings. No cooked breakfast but that wasn't a problem for us. There is a pub across the road and a parade of shops within an easy walking distance.

Clean, comfortable and quiet. Their keyless entry system and self service breakfast keeps costs down for the owners meaning great prices for guests. Will definitely return.

Bicester

The B&B was basic and could be improved e.g. a digital TV properly fixed to the wall not hanging rather precariously and in need of a booster aerial to access a picture and only BBC channels; properly fixed taps which didn't leak; better shower and cubicle. However, it was clean and comfortable, and the manager friendly and helpful. Probably overpriced at £50, but I guess that's competitive for Bicester.

Okay for a quick stay close to Bicester Village

Paid for a long bed, received a twin which we had to push together but one bed was higher than the other so was rather uncomfortable. Self service breakfast area had a spider on the wall during our stay :/ Overall the B&B was okay, location was perfect and the variety of cereal available was nice.
