Broken Spur Inn & Steakhouse

"We stayed at Broken Spur Inn and Restaurant 10/1/26-10/3/26. We were on the second floor (stairs only, no elevator...not a problem for us but for some that could be an issue) and had a balcony which was very nice...star-gazing at night and the sunrise in the morning from the balcony were wonderful! The room was clean and all that we needed for our two night stay but I'd only give it a 4 out of 5 stars because a few things are outdated and need some attention...the shower/tub is probably from the late 90's/2000's and there are folding doors that open directly into the room which is a little weird...these doors have sustained some water damage over the years and are in need of repair/replacement. The toilet is built for short people...very low to the ground. Check-in was very easy and the staff was helpful except for only having our keys setup for one night so when we returned from hiking the next day our keys didn't work and we had to go to the office to get it corrected...it wasn't terrible, just a bit of a hassle when we were tired. We needed extra towels and the staff got them for us quickly with no questions asked. It was very nice to have the restaurant on-site and the included breakfast we a bonus. The bed was very comfortable. We didn't use the pool or hot tub but they seemed adequate...again, maybe a little dated. Overall, I would recommend the Broken Spur Inn to others, especially if your plan is to visit Capitol Reef which is what we were doing."

"There are not a ton of options near Capitol Reef. Casitas is conveniently located a short drive from the park. We stayed in the inn portion of the property in a "family room" that was basically one decent-sized room with a king bed, set of bunk beds, and a kitchenette. A large closet and bathroom were behind the main room. Everything was clean. The upper bunk was squeaky and my son found it uncomfortable. The main bed was fine, not the best, but fine in terms of comfort. The kitchenette had one glass (certainly, there should have been more) and four coffee mugs. There was a small coffee maker and a few plates, bowls, cutlery items. A smart tv on the wall and wifi service. There was a Mexican restaurant about one minute away that we ate dinner in during our one-night stay that was very good. A well-known smashburger foodtruck is also just down the road, so there are convenient options for grabbing a bite. Overall, it was a convenient and clean place to stay when visiting Capitol Reef."
