Wayfarer Inn
A lovely hotel in Instow and very friendly staff. My room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. A superb all inclusive full English breakfast. Only down side the car park is a 10 minute walk away but not a problem. I will return next time I am in the area.

Tv wouldnt work at all in second room (no connection, after staff help) and buffering continually in first. Why not just let you watch terrestrial? Anything is better than nothing! Bit of mould in bathrooms. We needed to go v early first stay + getting some fresh milk for a v early bowl of cereal was a struggle. Staff v pleasant but on the whole I wouldnt stay here again.

I loved it. Just one thing spoiled it: there are very steep steps up to the accommodation. My two chihuahuas were petrified and would not go up or down. I had to put them in a beach bag and carry them. Lovely big room with sea view; all the staff so pleasant and helpful: choice and quality of breakfast first class. I would love to go again …but the stairs. I am almost 90 and had to take care myself, without carrying the dogs. Lovely place!

Great hotel the wayfarer Inn instow
Very friendly reception, a lovely clean spacious room and a very descent size and spotlessly clean bathroom. All the staff were helpful friendly made a lone traveler very welcome. The review I read had some complaints about food, well all the meals I had were superb well cooked and presented nicely and good portion sizes, the breakfast comes highly recommended

Our family room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Friendly staff. It was in a very good location. The breakfast was very nice, more tea or coffee and toast was available if requested. We had a lovely weekend.

Lovely hotel with friendly staff and great food.
We had a lovely stay at the wayfarer. The room was spotlessly clean and well appointed with a good selection of tea, coffee and biscuits, bright white soft towels and lovely decor. The pub and restaurant downstairs was also clean well decorated and with a good selection of food on offer. The breakfast was delicious with a veggie option available and all requests met. The staff were all really friendly and helpful and all in all I would thoroughly recommend this hotel. My only slight negative is that parking is limited in the vicinity and we had to park quite a distance away in December so in August this could be a problem.

Comfortable double room. Extremely clean. Breakfast is generous and nicely presented.No parking on site and it seems to be quite a busy area in the evening because of all of the nearby pubs and restaurants. Didn't cause us a problem.

Room was spotlessly clean and had a very appealing fragrance to it. Was made to feel most welcome and can not fault the staff. Breakfast was top notch too. Parking is a bit of an issue, it is on street only and hit and miss between 09:00 & 18:00 (after 18:00 parking on the sea front is permitted). There is pay and display parking somewhere near by but I didn't need to find it.

Very friendly staff. Helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. Breakfast was super. Thanks chef! Rooms spacious and clean. Bright designs. Wish the tv was bigger and there was a bedside table both sides of the bed. Saves putting glasses on the floor. Very good location, next to two nice restaurants and Pretty much in front of the beach. Parking limited. Heard owner doing a deal with cricket club just up the road which will solve this issue.

We had a pleasant 2 night stay at the Wayfarer Inn, Chris and his team have done a good job of redecorating over the last few months and the rooms and the bar area are fresh and clean. The screens that have been installed, between the tables and around the bar help to provide a level of comfort in relation to our need for maintaining social distance at the moment. Great breakfast, certainly sets you up for the day. The bathrooms still need work, a point that was acknowledged & hence not top marks in my review. But that wouldn't stop us from going back to stay another time. It's in a great location, within Instow, just off Marine Parade and is in a beautiful part of the country.

The service was impeccable. We rang and booked more nights due to an emergency and the owner was extremely helpful. All the staff made us feel welcome all of the time and could not do enough to help. If there was one improvement it would be to put soap in the rooms, but apart from that, everything - from the food to the service - was perfect.

Good position, suffers from Instow lack of parking spaces generally. Close, however, to 2 hour area means you can park 6pm -9am free and then 2 hours , ie can park up to 11am

Nice place, shame about the wait for our food.
We booked 1 night here en route to friends elsewhere in N Devon. While we were not expecting anything particularly brilliant from a pub with rooms - we were shocked to be kept waiting for our breakfast for 45/50 minutes after our order was taken. When we queried the delay we were merely told “everyone came down at the same time”! This is perhaps not too surprising when breakfast is only served between 8 & 9 a.m. There were about 8 or 9 diners, as I recall. However, the food (I had ordered a ‘full English’, my partner just bacon and some toast) was delicious. However, we both agreed this did not make up for the extremely long wait and e.g. wondered why the toast could not have been brought sooner. Surely not impossible......??! evert the room was clean, the bed comfortable and the accommodation is dog-friendly.
