"I was not impressed with the modern flair. The beauty of a elegant hotel for me is the richness of quality period furniture and decor. Mixes the two (modern with historic ) doesn't work. The transgender desk clerk was a bit much. A bid hard to look at, its' personality was acceptable. The rooms were also modernized. We have stayed here in the past. It was disappointing to see this change of mood in the hotel. Overall it was okay."

"Clean, new(ish). Pool wasn't open when we checked in but the exercise room was clean, well-stocked and easy to use (24 hrs/day). Two nits to pick -- the mattresses were rather hard. And there were no bedside lamps -- only an overhead lamp in between the two beds for which the switch was on the wall requiring you to get out of bed to turn off the light. Otherwise, it was great. Would stay there again."
