Hotel Seminario Bilbao

We chose this hotel for our family because it was close to the Bilbao airport (for 7am flight the next morning) and offered a free shuttle service. The check in was quick and the receptionist spoke English well. There is also a restaurant onsite, which is convenient because otherwise you need a car or taxi to get food. The restaurant food was adequate and the staff was very attentive. We were also looking forward to using the sports complex described, but when we got there it was all locked/closed up. The hotel staff couldn't tell us the hours. You should also know that the hotel is actually just one floor of a giant old building that houses various other businesses and offices. Parts of the building looked to be unused and in disrepair. Seems like it's an effort to revitalize an historic building for multiple uses. The hotel room itself was modern, spacious and clean. There is no air conditioner and no fan, so if it's hot, you need to sleep with the windows open (and can hear airplanes taking off/landing until about midnight).
