Was a good base. Beds were ok but noisy when you moved. Great sized TV for the room. Attention to cleanliness needed, although wasn't ridiculous. Need new pillows.

The price was reasonably cheap so cannot expect too much for that. Room was cold at night and a bit noisy as you could hear the traffic noise but at least it was clean. Room could have done with a chair and a desk. Food quality for breakfast was poor and they run out of food on Sunday.

Family stay
Our stay was mediocre. The room wasn't the cleanest as there were hairs on the bed and was not in a good state of repair, for instance there were numerous scuff marks on the wall, evidence of a leak on the ceiling in the bathroom and the TV remote didn't work properly. Not a huge selection for dinner and breakfast. Won't be staying here again

Good hotel in good location for the University
We chose The Bournbrook Hotel due to it's proximity to the University of Birmingham, which we needed for a graduation ceremony. The hotel was exceptionally clean, including the corridors, room and bathroom. The pub part is lovely and serves food. The staff were all friendly and helpful. There is plenty of parking. The price is exceptional for the accommodation. There was plenty of tea and coffee available near the kettle. What could have been better: The room was cold because no heating was on and so, having arrived in late evening, it took a long time to heat up. I think in winter, the heating in the rooms shoikd at least be left on low if it is known that the room has been allocated. The mattress was a bit saggy and could have benefitted from being turned. That's it. Great accommodation at a great price. We eould definitely use again and recommend.

The walls are very thin so I could hear everything next door, in the hall way and from above the room. The mattress was very uncomfortable, otherwise everything else was fine. Very friendly and helpful staff.

We often stay in the Bournbrook Inn when visiting family in Birmingham, rooms are reasonably priced and the staff are friendly and helpful. Although quite small, the rooms are always clean and comfortable.

Great place for a one night stay in between activities in and around Birmingham. The rooms are clean and warm and have everything needed. One thing that would have been useful to know was that they do indeed serve breakfast on the weekend (Hotels.com says breakfast only on weekdays). Would have saved me time and desperatly trying to find a place open for breakfast early on a Sunday.

I should have researched the area. I thought it was a classy pub room in a decent area. It is not. Car park completely dark and immediately felt unsure. It was loud, with music blaring in a rough area. Loads of tattooed med smoking outside below my room overlooking a busy road. It is definitely no place for a woman alone. The stairs leading to the room are just horrid and filthy. Room carpet looked awful. Rest looked clean enough but just didn’t feel safe… I left immediately and handed room key back in. What a waste of money. I could not get out of there fast enough. I’m sure it would suit a certain type of person or a lorry driver pit stop. For me it was just horrid.

The Bournbrook Inn also has very close links to the surrounding areas as well as the city centre. At The Bournbrook Inn, we cater for all types of guests whether it be families, solo travellers or those staying for work etc. Unfortunately, we cannot/nor do we wish to dictate whether our guests or bar/restaurant-goers have tattoos or smoke cigarettes. We are sorry that we did not meet your expectations at this time.

The Bournbrook is a basic hotel which is good value for money. The staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms are clean with comfortable beds. Good public transport to centepral Birmingham is close by.

Needs redecorating, but otherwise great!
Very reasonably priced, nice staff. The heater takes a very long while to get going, and we would have liked another bin, a larger one, or to have it emptied every day. The only real problem though was a patch of mildew that seemed to be forming by one of the windows, most likely due to the handles to open/close them being utterly inaccessible unless you climb on one of the bedside tables, so there should really be a chair in the room, preferably with a small desk as there is space for it. Would recommend if you're looking for somewhere reasonably priced with very easy and quick access to Edgbaston Stadium, with a slightly longer trip on the bus to Birmingham central.
