"Historic hotel with lots of character, but also filled with modern comforts and amenities. Staff were welcoming and friendly, room was nicely decorated, cosy, warm and comfortable. Breakfast and dinner menus in the rooms, along with a selection of drinks, and a whole book full of the hotel's history and other useful info. All toiletries provided too. Large bar area and restaurant serving food and beers from the local Hall and Woodhouse brewery. Room prices were really reasonable considering that they also included breakfast (both cooked and cold items available)."

"Excellent location for the Cathedral. Room was clean and comfortable and the bathroom was generous size. Lovely walk-in shower, pity water pressure wasn't a little higher but was adequate and hot. Breakfast was good, plenty of options including cooked, meats and cheeses, fruit and pastries. The staff were really friendly and helpful and a particular shout out for Trevor!"
