"Had to wait around for check-in as the desk clerk was out and left a note. Room and beds were comfortable and clean. Bath amenities were fine. We love the location of the motel as it is a walking distance to everything in blowing rock. You are able to back your car upright to rooms door, a huge plus for unloading and loading. We have stayed here for 20 years and the motel is now in need of some TLC on the outside reference paint, rockers, window cleaning etc… I’m sure they are planning to make these improvements, and we will certainly be returning."

"Room was extremely quiet, even though we were on the dog floor. Breakfast was extensive and delicious including hot cinnamon rolls and biscuits. Bags were even provided to take leftovers and fruit. Location was very close to blue ridge and to downtown blowing rock and restaurants. Extremely pleased and would definitely recommend."

"Score was dated, however everything was clean, staff were friendly and helpful with questions. Loved all the outdoor space to walk my dog for potty breaks. Stayed at sister property Boxwood and it is not near as clean and inviting. Would stay at Village Inn again though."

"We loved the clean, attractive, neatly organized room/bathroom!! Juanita did an excellent job cleaning the room and providing extra bath linens for us. The in-room amenities were superb - e.g. television and location, easy access desk with roomy desk top/desk chair, microwave, coffee machine/coffee/etc., refrigerator, storage areas (drawers, closet, shelving in bathroom/towel holders/toiletries). Very easy access to adjust the room temperature. The bed linens/pillows/carpet and decor were pretty and inviting. Lighting was great with the lamps placed just right; the window shades were great for night time privacy and daytime sunshine ... next time we come we are going to stay longer so we can enjoy sitting on the porch in the comfy chairs. And the cost... so very reasonable and easy access to walk to shops and restaurants in town!! I HIGHLY recommend this lovely and comfy place!!"

"There was a delay at the time of check in when we arrived well after the 4pm check in time. Chetola Lodge immediately offered a $50 gift card for use on property as apology for our delay in getting into the property we had reserved. That was classy and appreciated. But in the process of trying to get the condo ready - the check in packet was not reviewed and we did not realize we had an instruction card for the unit’s WiFi so it took a couple of calls to the front desk, first one no one answered or called back regarding voice mail left and second one solved the issue when the staff person told us where to look for WiFi log on information. Problem solved. The grounds are beautiful and the condo unit very nice. Be aware - no on property restaurants on Mondays, you will be asked to take out the trash to a centralized collection container, wash all of the dishes used (there is a dishwasher), reset thermostats, turn off all lights/fans, etc and be sure no food left in cabinets or refrigerators. The property does not recycle. I had always wanted to stay here over the years. Well, I have done it now but won’t be back. There are plenty of nice hotels in the Boone, Blowing Rock area that are less expensive."
