"Beautiful building, with great views down the hillside and out to sea. Lovely big room, with nice balcony, comfortable beds. Kettle, teas and mini-fridge were appreciated. The lady on reception was very friendly and answered our questions. Unfortunately the restaurant was not serving any dinner and the pool hadnt been cleaned and looked out of action, it was early in the season but neither was informed to us before our stay."

"Charming hotel fantastically located on the beachfront. Lots of restaurants in walkable distance. Most rooms don’t have ocean views. The rooms are a bit tired but comfortable. Pool and hot tub are great. Staff helpful and good breakfast. Overall great value for money if you would like a reasonably costed accommodation in Sao Vicente."

"The location deserves the highest praise, and the room was clean and comfortable. However, the view was disappointing as it overlooked the spa roof rather than the valley. The shower was excellent, although there was no bathtub. Breakfast was very basic, though this may be intentional to avoid overwhelming choice. The spa facilities themselves are great, but opening hours are limited to 10:00 AM–7:00 PM. Since we were out most of the day, we had to rush back in order to use them. In my opinion, hotel guests should receive either free or discounted access to the spa. Dinner was decent but very expensive, with extra charges for side dishes adding up quickly. If you have the chance, I would recommend dining in Funchal or the surrounding areas, where prices are much more reasonable."
