Glad you enjoyed your stay. The trees that obscure my sign has a tree presavation on it so not allowed to even trim without first obtaining permission. But I agree it does need trimming. The goole map is a great way to find us though. I do hope you will return in the future.

Thanks for taking the time to review. My other room is slightly larger if you want a larger room. But both roons can sleep 3 comfortably. As you say the amenities I suppy is good and I alway strive to make improvements. Great to hear over all you felt it perfect and well priced. I hope to see you again in the future.

Sorry to hear you was disapointed with the breakfast. There was bread also frozen for toast should the fresh bread in fridge runs low. There was butter eggs jam & marmalade marmite ketchup olive oil to cook with salt & pepper.in the kitchen for guest use. Surprised you didn't see it all as you must have gone in the kitchen when throwing all you unused produce in the kitchen bin.Also ground coffee in the kitchen and instant both in the kitchen & breakfast.Not sure what you mean about having to remake your tea as it is self service where you make you own tea! You are responsible for washing & drying your own dishes. I have tried to make things safer for my guests by suppying each guest group their own tee towel during these times. And ask guests after they book to confirm you are Ok with Meadow Oak's risk assessment. I only advertise that cereals milk coffee tea & sugar and is advertised as self catering. The milk that had gone off was with a use by date of today 2nd August.though it had gone off as you say. I check use by dates. All I can say I am very sorry you was disapointed with your stay as I try to go beyond what I advertise. I usually explain this to guests but didn't get a chance as you only saw me very briefly when you arrived and never indicated you were unhappy even when you messaged me to let me know you had decide to leave early to give yourself a rest day on your return. Being on the weekend I was available if you had any question or needed anything I would have done all I could to help make you stay what you had hoped but I dont do cooked breakfasts as I work during the week and have found on the whole most guests are very happy with what I offer. It does upset me that you was disappointed. It is as advertised as self catering not self service breakfast.

This is a self catering bed & Breakfast! I accept what we supply is the basics of Cereals Tea Coffee Sugar & Milk. You only have to read all the other reviews to see everyone else has always loved what Meadow Oak offers. Until now! Most love Meadow Oak for its uniqueness! Maybe an cereal complainer! Forgive the pun! A Bed & Breakfast feel with the freedom to be able to cook your own breakfast lunch or dinner. The risk assessment for covid19 was done and sent out to each guest to agree and accept it! Nigel failed to respond even though it was sent to him twice. It does say as he mentions that Meadow Oak was encouraging it's guests to eat out or to order takeaways and has allowed also eating in the guest rooms all to reduce risk and to hopefully improve my guests experience while keeping them safe. This doesn't mean guests can't cook a meal during their stay but only to try and reduce risk of too many in the kitchen at once. The only other guest was out early on business. So the kitchen was certainly open for these guests to use and they never once asked about whether they could use the kitchen. Nigel Green was rude throughout making myself uncomfortable. He fails to mention they both recieved an complimentary home made Strawberry flan on their first day and also offered on their second day. When they couldn't get the TV to work I sorted it out with a smile. When he asked for bread for toast I gave him some of my own bread and when he started moaning he had no jam I also gave them a new jar even though I don't generally supply this. Which they then failed to use! I use to only supply 3 different cereals but now offer a wider range! Nigel Green who says he doesn't eat cereals ate cereals every morning! and on the last morning when taking his bags to his car! I said are you coming back for your breakfast he made a snide remark. "No cereal!!!" Then he later came out of the breakfast room complaining there was no weetabix!!!! When I produce some weetabix from my stock he seemed more disappointed that I had some!!!!! I go out of my way to try and make all my guests welcome and their visit special and that also goes for Nigel Green & his wife but I have never met such a difercult Guest in all my years! Sorry they didn't like theirs stay! Rather upsetting for me but I did everything the same as for all my other guests! There was no pleasing these guests! I certainly wouldn't accept a booking from these again! Not ever felt like this before. We are and will continue to be a self catering Bed & Breakfast and during these uncertain times we have the safety of our guests and all at Meadow Oak at mind and in future I will not tolerate rudeness or guests who ignore our rules to help keep everyone as safe as possible. I am normally pleased to made a great memory for the vast majority of my guests, sadly not on this occasion
