Wir waren - dank Nebensaison - die einzigen Gäste. Dennoch haben wir den vollen Service in Hotel und Tauchbasis genießen können, für uns purer Luxus! Das Essen im Restaurant war vorzüglich, das enthaltene Frühstück fällt eher mager aus und wurde dann eben entsprechend der Speisekarte ergänzt. Alles war picobello sauber und das Personal ausgesprochen freundlich. Auch die spontane Buchung des Transfers vom Flughafen hat problemlos funktioniert. Ausrüstung und Boote der Tauchbasis sind hervorragend gewartet und die Guides haben uns die wunderbare Makro-Welt näher bringen können, wetterbedingt waren max. Halbtagesausfahrten möglich - diese wurden uns aber dennoch mit dem großen Boot ermöglicht. Anzumerken ist allerdings, dass vor Ort ausschließlich Barzahlung akzeptiert wird. Der nächste Geldautomat ist ca. 3km entfernt im Ort und hat uns täglich nur max. 20.000 Pesos ausgeworfen. Gerade bei einer hohen Rechnung wegen der Tauchgänge fallen dann mehrere Fahrten in den Ort an - bzw. haben wir mehrere Kreditkarten bemüht, um die Endsumme zahlen zu können. Das Internet funktionierte bei uns nur sporadisch. Der Empfang von 4G war aufgrund der Lage am Berghang auch nicht gegeben, sodass sich die Anschaffung einer Simkarte fast nicht lohnt - wir hatten nur an Bord der Tauchboote oder im Ort Boljoon Empfang.

Saubere, schlichte aber moderne Zimmer! Sehr freundliches Personal und hilfreiche Tipps. Tolle Anlage mit eigenem Meerzugang. Frühstück in Ordnung. Sehr gerne wieder als Unterkunft!

unfriendly reaction of owner leaves bad aftertaste
We had beautiful days and enjoyed our stay. A small improvement would be a sun umbrella to create shade for the relaxing chairs. On our last evening we ordered the seafood platter (1650 PHP). Unfortunately, the squid was overcooked and by far too chewy, the filling of the squid were raw onions and tomatoes, the shrimps were not cleaned, and the fish was quite dry. We usually don’t send food back, but this was a more luxurious meal, certainly considering the price in comparison with other food options (all German food btw was delicious). We got a very unexpected reaction from the owner Gerhard and his young German colleague from the kitchen. They said, squid has to be that way and tastes good. We could hardly cut through it and had to ask few times to get it replaced with something else. We certainly have eaten squid many times (we ate squid few hours earlier in Oslob) and never had it that way. Even though taste can differ, the reaction was quite harsh and not customer friendly at all. We felt like to defend us as guests. To top all of it, the owner mentioned that my husband should have worn a shirt which was the first time we heard it, neither was there a specific dress code. This comment was unnecessary and probably coming out of frustration. Even though the bill was reduced, the reaction left a bad aftertaste. Kitchen mistakes can happen, but it is the way you handle it which makes a big difference. Pity that it happened, as it is a nice resort and local staff was great.
