Great location and facility. Very welcoming and helpful staff. Excellent location right in the heart of Bonn with everything in the vicinity or within walking distance. Also, public transportation right nearby. Highly recommend.

A very imposing exterior hides a dated and tired interior. We booked a junior suite, the furniture was from a previous decade and for a hotel of this grade air conditioning should be available, alas only a large and noisy fan. No walk in shower, just a flimsy curtain over the bath. Walking around the corridors is similar to being in a old hospital, stark decoration and old metal fire doors The breakfast was good if a little expensive for what you got but a decent selection nonetheless Lastly the reception personal were pleasant and helpful,

Pleasant historic hotel in central Bonn
A beautiful hotel located centrally in Bonn. The hotel is a little dated now but it is affordable and convenient. Bed was comfy, staff was friendly and the only negative was the bath towels being very small. They also had a deal for if you didn’t need housekeeping (we stayed two nights) you got a free drink and snack per guest, which is a decent encouragement to be a little more eco friendly if you don’t need towels washed etc.

The Stern Hotel is magestic and historical. It did not disappoint!! The room was nice and clean, the staff were wonderful and the food & cafe outside was great. A lovely place to be, you're in the midst of everything and yet it is very safe and beautiful.

DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL. Little to like other than the location. The room was not very clean. The toilet is in a room that is so tiny you can barely stand. There is no coffee except as part of the breakfast, and no way to make coffee in the room. They were out of butter when we had breakfast. Perhaps worst of all, when we asked for an extra pillow, they said that housekeeping was closed! Obviously, they have no concern for customers' comfort.

It is a bit outdated hotel in absolutely great location (hard to beat), great service, but... the strangest part is the linen - not all is cotton, I personally have not seen this for ages anywhere and I hate synthetics... Breakfast is nothing special, the free wifi is poor and almost useless. I would not select this hotel again just because of the synthetics bed linen...

The staff was super and helpful and friendly, etc. the fitness center across the way was excellent and we could use it for free. Breakfast was beautiful and included more than you could ever eat. Overall a good experience. And location excellent for walking everywhere!! Just what I had expected!!

Great service, but too warm/no privacy
The staff are excellent and I really appreciated their help with things like directions and taxis. The decor is also nicely styled and definitely more interesting that your typical hotel. However, it’s also really difficult to adjust the temperature in your room— I opened the window, but it was really only possible to do so with the curtains open. The loss of privacy was compounded by the fact that my room faced out into a courtyard looking at the windows of other guest rooms... and to boot, the bathroom didn’t have a door!!

It's a wonderful building in terms of design and architecture, right in the middle of a large square in Bonn. Square is not too noisy but full of life. We bought fresh fruit in front of our hotel for lunch. Our room had an excellent bathroom.

Cosy Centrally Located Hotel in Bonn
Really can't fault this hotel at all. Located right on the main square in Bonn, the hotel was easy to find and perfectly located to explore the town and get the train to nearby Cologne. All staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great and having a free mini bar provided was such a nice touch. The room was cosy and immaculately clean. I will definitely stay here again when I next return!

Value for money in good location
Very good stay overall. Good value for money. Great location and very friendly staff. The hotel could use with a bit of an update, and the "free" wifi is a bit limited. Not a great place to get work done if you require strong connectivity.
