The room was spacious enough, comfortable and equipped with a kettle and mini-bar fridge. Decor is smart, clean bourgeois. Service at the bar, restaurant and breakfast room was excellent, as was the food in the restaurant. Though quite expensive, it was a memorable evening meal and we were very glad to have had the chance to eat there - worth the price!

Excellente adresse pour ce séjour de 5 jours , La Matelote les chambres sont excellentes. Le Chef et ses équipes en cuisines ainsi qu’en salle sont formidables. Nous y avons manger 4 fois.Je recommande fortement cette adresse. Merci beaucoup et à bientôt.

Everything went according to plan the room was spacious very clean. Staff appear to be friendly. The room was somewhat noisy as it was on the main road but we managed to get a good night sleep. Double glazing didn’t seem to block the noise as much as I thought I might.

Correct pour une nuit

Monsieur sympathique a l’accueil, décoration chambre vieillotte. La Clim était fonctionnelle. Petite salle de bain malgré une chambre supérieure. Parking (box fermé) payant et parking public à côté (bord de plage) complet la journée.

Hotel was convenient and clean. Staff could not have been more helpful. Very convenient for return trip from Calais to Folkestone. Car parking was booked in advance and very secure. Area is ok but not the best . We stayed on a Monday and most eateries were closed. In summary I would stay there again but as a convenient stop off for Le Shuttle. Staff were great!

The hotel was in excellent order. The lounge wasn’t welcoming, nor were the receptionists, apart from one particular gentleman. The breakfast wasn’t v good. The lift only went up one flight after which we had to struggle up two flights of stairs carrying a heavy suitcase… a problem for the elderly. It took three calls to have a faulty light bulb fixed.

Charm

This is a rather old fashioned hotel but not without charm or character. The superior room was fine but the shower was designed to flow away and not into the bathroom, which it did not which meant tiled floor was very slippy. The shower robes were very useful on route to jacuzzi and back. The jacuzzi was a lovely free extra. But one thing was very worrying on our last day up and ready to shower and depart the fire alarm went off. This was probably set of by a customer smoking in their room but the staff response was shockingly bad and we, and one French woman, appeared to be the only guests to have evacuated. She used the lift! We came in from outside to be told nonchalantly that it was a false alarm. This was really very worrying if it had been a real fire.

The hotel itself is great, the room comfortable and the parking is extremely useful and secure. However, it's some way from the centre and, at least on a Tuesday, the hotel's restaurant is really the only place within sensible night-time walking distance. The restaurant is fine, but not great, and is significantly overpriced for what it is. I don't object to 70Euros a head, but I do expect the food and wine to be much better for that price.

Très déçue de l hôtel vue de la chambre sur une cour!deux marches pour aller à la salle de bain et wc pas grave dans la journée mais risque de chute la nuit.piscine eau très froide !on a pas pu en profiter.parking très mal conçu car voiture derrière vous et impossible de sortir sans demander à l accueil de bouger la voiture !je n ai jamais vu ça et croyez moi j’ai beaucoup voyagé !il ne mérite pas 4 etoiles !.je n y retournerai plus jamais 👎 et ne vais pas en faire de la pub.encore une chose télé très petite pour un 4etoiles

Nous avons mangé au restaurant de l'hôtel qui est juste une tuerie!!! Accueil hyper chaleureux avec la possibilité de changer car une des entrées était impossible pour moi. Le repas a été incroyablement bon avec un service impeccable et un personnel compétent et chaleureux. A refaire les yeux fermés !!!
