"Receptionist was helpful to show us a room. It did need a remodel, a little worn and bathroom door wouldn't close. I liked having the sink area outside shower/toilet. Breakfast needs things like yogurt, hard boiled eggs... since the omelettes were not good."

"Pleasant surprise!! Not a lot of options in this part of NY. Common areas were OK. Room was clean and comfy. Really awesome to have inexpensive laundry on site. Grocery store and gas station down the block. The best part was the staff. Very welcoming, helped with every need. I would stay here again for the staff alone."

"I stayed at the Cortland Motel for one night after a concert in nearby Homer. My expectations were low since I only needed an inexpensive place to sleep before heading home the next day. Overall, it met those expectations. The biggest positives were the price, location, cleanliness, and parking. It's right off I-81, and the classic one-storey motel layout means plenty of parking is directly outside the rooms. While the property is very dated, the room and bathroom were spotless, and the flooring appeared newer than the rest of the room. The TV was also a pleasant surprise, with cable, plenty of channels, and an on-screen guide. Drawbacks included a language barrier at check-in, although the owners were friendly and did their best to help. The room was small but adequate for a solo traveller. It smelled stuffy at first, but the air conditioner quickly fixed that. The bed was softer and bouncier than I prefer, but fine for one night. The bathroom was very basic, with tiny soap bars, shampoo packets, little counter space, no exhaust fan, and a cramped shower. Water pressure was poor, and the showerhead looked overdue for a cleaning, although the multiple spray settings helped compensate somewhat. The walls were thin and the Wi-Fi was poor. While this isn't somewhere I'd choose for a vacation, it served its purpose well for a quick overnight stay. Clean, affordable, convenient, and no-frills. I'd probably stay here again if I needed a cheap place to spend the night."
