"This is an older "Motorlodge" type motel. I like that you can park right outside your room and keep an eye on your car. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The tub had some rust around the drain but was clean (the water was HOT!). The gentleman at the desk was helpful and friendly.
The only downside was that, like a lot of hotels, the walls are thin and noise comes right through them. The guy next door to me had the TV on and you could hear it in my room, outside his room through the door, even though the building itself is brick. And when his alarm went off at 4:30am I thought it was in my room! I even looked outside to see if the noise was coming from the parking lot. And he didn't wake up and shut it off until I started banging on the wall!
The motel is right off I-95. That end of Emporia doesn't have the amenities of the other exits on the north side, but the area is building up near the interstate. I will stay here again when I travel through the area."
"Impeccably clean and renovated garden style lodging. Super friendly staff and a very nice breakfast with more options than usual at this price. Only negative was that no matter how much paint was used to renovate it couldn't cover up the residual smoke smell from years ago. We were only staying one night on our way south so it was fine for a short stay."
"The pool was already closed when we arrived. Handicap parking was somewhat limited… all spaces were full on the frontside. We had to park on the side and navigate our way through from there. The lady at the front desk in the morning was a bit rude and wouldn’t look up to process our check out. After standing for several minutes without as much as a “one moment please” I decided to leave our keys on the counter and leave."
"To be cheap it was a great stay. We were a little nervous about it but it was the only thing available when we booked. But I was pleasantly surprised and impressed! It was so clean inside the room and was very quiet outside throughout the night. The beds were a little uncomfortable and the pillows were terrible but otherwise we had a great stay"
