"We chose this cottage due to its location in Appledore and that it's dog friendly. We stayed in Apple Tree cottage. It was a lovely surprise to see what lay behind the No 5 door. "Lovely property and friendly hosts. Listing on Hotels.com doesn't state number of dogs allowed, which is actually only one, but host was very understanding and accommodated us and our pets. Well located for exploring the North Devon coastal region, Bideford is lovely and we also had a great day at Westward Ho! Hot tub at the house was most welcome in the evening after a long day exploring the coastal path."

"This is a nice property that's had love and care poured into restoring it. The property is however over-marketed (and over-priced) in our opinion. Expedia market as a 'cottage' and the pin shows a central Woolacombe location. Its actually in a holiday/residential park above Woolacombe. "A beautifully maintained and owner-cherished lodge in a peaceful surroundings away from the hubbub of normal life. A lovely relaxing place to spend time and to use as a base when enjoying the breathtaking views and experiences in the local area. The beds were comfy, the showers were powerful, and there’s every utensil you need for a group of 6 in the kitchen to cook and eat together. The little welcome pack was a lovely touch."

Durrant House Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"We stayed six nights and enjoyed it immensely. There is a real homely feeling to the hotel. There were a few niggles but you get them wherever you go. The staff were polite, friendly and most attentive. The bar and restaurant were more than satisfactory and the heated outdoor pool was a brilliant addition. We will definitely be going back especially since my partners friend is residing in Bideford now and we will happily reserve a room at Durant House Hotel whenever we visit."

Westbeach Holiday Apartments

"These apartments are brilliant if you are travelling with children, as we were. Lovely and spacious, with a dishwasher and coffee (ground) machine. Great oven and microwave, fridge freezer working well. Kitchen prep area was a good size, too. Bathroom was very clean and well finished, although the mirror wasn't lit. We couldn't get the living room TV to work, but we didn't contact the host, so this is not a complaint as I'm sure it would've been sorted. The TV in the bedroom was fine but we were unable to log out of someone else's Netflix. The balcony space and dining area were roomy enough for 5 of us. The communal areas look a bit scary and unkempt but inside the apartment is completely different. The lift is temperamental and didn't work on our last day. There is ample, unallocated parking. It could be signposted a bit better, but the directions in the email are good. There was a side view of the beach from our apartment, and some very loud seagulls! Also to note there is a children's play area outside with a squeaky swing - this may haunt your dreams if you've got the windows open! You may hear music from the square or nearby venues, but they all seemed to finish at a reasonable time. Overall a pleasant stay which suited our family well and was great value for money."

"What a fabulous hotel ! Very welcoming, beautifully kept , great decor .. amazing food , helpful & friendly staff. We were celebrating an anniversary & the hotel made our stay extra special. The cocktails, canopes evening meal & breakfast were all delicious & very high standard. The rooms were spacious smart & well equipped."
