"Fabulous location, friendly & helpful staff and beautiful gardens. However the room was extremely hot and very compact although we did book a small double. No air con just a window and desktop fan so slept without the duvet. Very noisy with neighbouring rooms doors opening/closing late at night/early morning definitely could do with addressing this issue as the room practically shook with other rooms door closures. Bed was comfortable and good stock of coffee/tea & toiletries."

The shower was hot. The hotel was in an quiet location, convenient for travelling to York or any part of North Yorkshire. Would recommend."

"Great stay. The room was clean and had a great view. The breakfast was tasty and there was no queue to get in. Staff were helpful and we were able to put the car in the carpark on the morning we arrived. It would have been nice if the tables at breakfast were wiped between sittings rather than the crumbs just being swept with a hand onto the chairs."
