"The exterior of this building needs more presence for an inn. It looked liked an empty commercial building. The door off the waterfront side is not the main entrance - it is at the rear, off the parking lot. A small sign naming the hotel is at the entrance of the narrow driveway. At the very least it should be lit at night, A welcome sign should be added and some flower urns placed at each side of the door (even if they are fake). The front door could easily be enhanced with paint. However, once you get inside it is much better, Our room was spacious and decorated nicely. It had very high ceilings and an ornate fireplace, . The bathtub was the most comfortable tub I’ve encountered on this trip, It is also large and could easily accommodate a stool to put your clothing on rather than the floor and some extra shelving to hold a second toiletries case would be nice. The bed was comfortable and it was quiet. Close to restaurants on the waterfront, My minor recommendations would not be expensive and I think would gain the inn more business. Our car was the only car in the parking lot and I suspect we were the only guests. Our room was 1c and on the first floor. Didn’t notice an elevator so that might be a consideration in terms of requesting a first floor unit."
"A very unique Inn that whisks you back to Victorian times in Scotland. The inn is located only a block away from the waterfront with its museum, eateries and the history of the first Scottish peoples landing in Nova Scotia. Sandy and Cathy are wonderful hosts. The bed was wonderfully comfortable. If you are looking for a place to stay that is a little different in a nice way, The Scotsman Inn is the place to stay"
"This was a very nice, clean.... room? More of a B&B, but without that second B! Just a room. There was a note about a kitchen with a "Continental" breakfast. Picture showed cereal. But we left early and I couldn't find the kitchen! Everything about the room was great, tho. Except, no closet. Even so, I would recommend."
"Such a beautiful quaint old home turned into a charming BnB. The husband and wife team have poured their heart and soul into this place and it shows. We stayed in the Royal Room which felt exactly that. Rich dark colours and thoughtful touches of decor made it feel very comfortable. And speaking of which, the bed comfort was amazing! The place is very quiet and has a sitting room to sip tea or coffee after a day of road tripping. The breakfast included was fantastic (French toast with fruit and yogurt and coffee) and they even went out of their way to provide a gluten free option for me. Super happy with everything and would definitely stay here again!"
