"Beautiful B&B on a hill, but walkable to the bay and wharf and many dining options. The Bay Area is a little tacky with pin ball, casinos bars etc, but we had a very nice dinner at a spot called “Local” and it was walking distance to our lodging."

"Really lovely little hotel (12 rooms?). Beautifully and tastefully decorated. Location very convenient for Torquay but far enough away from the noise. Beautiful 19th century property. Hosts very friendly, everyone greeted at breakfast by their names - how do they remember everyone's name??! Lovely breakfast all made to order - good variety. Would definitely stay again if in Torquay. We booked through expedia but worth looking at booking direct."

"A little gem. Had a fantastic weekend stay at The Smugglers. From the minute we checked in to the moment we left, the staff made us very welcome. The restaurant served superb steaks cooked on their charcoal grill. thank you Mark and Emily and all the staff. They are a real credit to your hard work in making this hotel a lovely place to unwind and relax. Andrew and Sam"

"Driftwood is rated as 5 star, and it is well deserved. The B&B was absolutely spotless and finished to a high standard. The room had all we needed with smart TV, coffee machine and very comfortable bed. The bathroom also was finished to a high standard and felt like you were in an expensive hotel. The real selling point for me was that this was one of the balcony rooms. The balcony was large and with probably one of the best views of the harbour and facing in the right direction for the morning sun. The owners Zoe and Keith made us feel very welcome and put on lovely breakfast with plenty of choices. Position was great with steps to the side of the building and about a 2 minute walk to the harbour where we found plenty of quality places to eat. Parking was limited but we were able to park across the road and leave the car there for the weekend. If there was anything missing it was a dressing table, but I'm not sure where one would fit because of the layout. . My wife managed ok as there were several mirrors and sockets for the provided hairdryer. Highly recommended and first choice for a return visit to Brixham. "
