"The whole hotel could do with a massive refurbishment, however, then the prices would go up, so it's cheap n cheerful. The staff were superb; no issue was any trouble. I had a problem with the door lock (couldn't swipe in), they sent a maintenance man out and he sorted it quickly. I also pointed out a few other issues with the room, which he assured me would be rectified upon my departure. We ate in the bar area, good service, friendly staff again. Can't fault the friendliness of the place. Food was tasty and well presented. The room itself was tired, and the bathroom did need a real deep clean, mould in places. But the beds were comfortable and smelt clean. A few stains on the carpet and walls in places - but I'm just being picky. We didn't have breakfast on the last stay, but previously, it's been edible and hot. Bonus, free parking and plenty of it. I will be staying here every time I come to Chester as it's near my daughter and grandchildren."
