"To better reflect the University of Alabama experience and justify the price point, the hotel could benefit from updated guest room renovations, improved housekeeping standards, and more attention to detail with maintenance issues such as broken curtains and worn furniture. Adding more Alabama-themed decor, photos, and school spirit throughout the hallways and rooms would also create a more memorable and authentic university hotel atmosphere. During renovations, management should work harder to minimize muddy or unappealing entrance areas and consider temporarily lowering rates to better match the guest experience. Small touches like cleaner rooms, refreshed furnishings, and stronger campus branding would go a long way in making prospective students and families feel excited and welcomed during their visit. As the parent of a prospective University of Alabama student, first impressions matter.
