"Perfect location for exploring York with free parking included. The staff were lovely, with a warm welcome and farewell. The room was equipped with a hairdryer and complimentary toiletries, which we hadn't expected. The proximity of the room to the road, and being above the bar meant it was noisy, but we were prepared for that. The owners obviously have an issue with drainage with it being such an old building, but we didn't see any issues with that other than having to stop the shower for a...

"Very good check-in. Staff were helpful with directions and a map of the area. They really tried to make us feel welcome, and succeeded. Quaint little room was a lot of fun and all amenities were thoughtful (umbrellas provided in the room for example) and comfy. Breakfast was reasonably priced and had lots of good choices. Surprisingly quiet at night - they had a patio nearby but we didn't hear a thing from it and enjoyed restful sleep. A great place and we were glad we stayed there."

"This is a lovely traditional country pub with friendly hosts and locals, attentive staff and a welcoming, relaxing atmosphere. The food is home cooked pub food at its best and the breakfast was high quality and served to your own personal preferences. Nice walk by the Humber completed our enjoyable night escape. "Our room was overlooking a very noisy rowdy beer garden but it was quiet by 11 so didn’t keep us awake. Breakfast was beautiful."

"The location is fabulous, the apartment is fantastic and amenities great. The beds were not great, very uncomfortable. They advertise luggage storage and before we checked in they stored our luggage and then took it to our room when the room was ready, that was awesome, but when we asked for luggage storage on our check out we were told we would have to pay. Staff were very friendly and helpful."
