Originally built in the 12th century as the chapel of the residence of the Count of Flanders, the church houses a venerated relic of the Holy Blood allegedly collected by Joseph of Arimathea and brought from the Holy Land by Thierry of Alsace, Count of Flanders. Built between 1134 and 1157, it was promoted to minor basilica in 1923. The 12th-century basilica is located in the Burg square and consists of a lower and upper chapel. Whilst excellently located we killed a number of bugs (one large one squirted blood in the bed) and wonder if it would pass a public health inspection. I would not recommend or ever stay again. I will be seeking a refund through Expedia. No keys were left for bicycles and owner informed us we should have booked ahead....where was that information?

Serviettes mouillées quand nous sommes arrivés ainsi que le savon déjà entamé... Le lendemain matin une personne (que nous supposons être la personne suivante) est rentrée dans la chambre alors que nous n étions pas encore sortis ... De plus, nous n’avons pas été prévenus que nous devions retourner payer à l’hotel Le lendemain. De ce fait nous sommes partis pensant que comme ailleurs nous serions prélevés... Une personne nous a appelé et envoyé un mail pour nous dire que nous n’avions pas réglé qu il fallait revenir ! Heureusement que nous étions encore à Bruges... Bref décevant pour 135€ !

Es war eine schöne 5tägige Reise. Brügge ist eine tolle Stadt. Die Wohnung war für uns 3 Personen genau richtig, günstig gelegen und ruhig mit einem sehr schönen gemütlichen Innenhof.

Zero customer service, no cleaning, great location

I would think twice before paying cash upfront again. The owner/manager was extremely rude and we didn’t have our room cleaned or replenished with towels/toilet paper once during our three night stay. Sheets so thing I actually thought there weren’t any on the bed when we first arrived. Had trouble with the door and when we tried to get help we were treated as if we were stupid but have confirmation many others have had similar troubles. When I asked the owner/manager about the door locking instead of her simply saying the elevator door that led to the room was locked, she said that “this is not America” and our belonging were safe. Would not recommend

In the best spot.

Stayed here for my honeymoon - great location, a little muggy but not too hot. Cute layout but a bit small. Great for one to two travelers.

Incredible place - huge, clean, nicely decorated and in a great location. You have to head over to another hotel nearby to check-in, which is mildly inconvenient, but the place is definitely worth it.

So Residence Breydelhof is lovely accommodation and was perfect as it meant i didnt have to eat out all the time. The only issue was i arrived late and i never received any instructions or confirmation when i arrived late to check in at Hotel Die Swain. The sign put on the door saying that was not exactly obvious in the dark and there was no map telling me where the hotel was. Also was problem with the pin code opening the door a few times, so guy next door come and opened it for me. Other than that, i was happy with my accommodation, its facilities and location and Bruges is beautiful

Parfait pour séjour en famille ou en couple

Un appartement rattaché a un très bel hôtel, très pratique en famille (une chambre avec un grand lit double, un lit double qui se replie sur le mur dans le salon, deux wc et une grande cuisine intégralement équipée). Une décoration typique du coin, d’un standing très agréable ! Matelas très confortable et jolie salle de bain également ! Emplacement à 5mn de la grande place mais ds un quartier calme ! Parfait !

Recommended for couples

Room was nice with a vintage decoration. They had complimentary waliking tour and bikes for our use. Excellent location. Service was very good. They treat us very welcomed. You have to check in at another hotel that is approx 3 minutes walking and payment is in cash. Bathroom is small.

Great location, cozy unit, friendly staff.

I stayed with a friend in one of the units at Residence Breydelhof. We had a great experience! Our unit was small, but more than enough space for two people. The staff was friendly and helpful whenever we needed anything. It was also a nice plus that there were bikes that were free to use. I would definitely be interested in staying again if I return to the beautiful city of Bruges!

Character apartment near city centre

These little apartments are full of character. We had plenty of space and it was clean, comfortable and well-equipped. We couldn't have hoped for a better location, on a quiet street but only a few minutes walk from the city centre. If I return to Bruges I will definitely stay here again.

Superb service, great location

Linked to the nearby hotel, this accommodation was superbly presented, well equipped and very comfortable. The location was ideal - being central, but slightly set back from the busy touristy streets. The hotel staff were superbly helpful, and couldnt have done more to assist and make our stay as pleasurable as it was. The free bikes were a real treat and a highly recommended way of exploring the city - especially for those on a short stay (as we were). I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, and will be sure to visit again.

Well worth it

Well equipped with a lovely living area and massive TV (not that we watched any!) but the iPod dock was useful. Made use of the kitchen and coffee machine. Found loads of extras, bed in a cupboard, washing machine and ironing board behind a door and an extra toilet. Felt really luxurious for the price although the hats in the miss Hathaway room wasn't really my taste the rest of the apartment was tastefully decorated, well kept and clean. Already recommended it and will definitely come back.

Choisir entre des mètres carré ET la tranquillité

Appartement miss Hathaway, très spacieux mais donne sur la rue très bruyante, lampadaire de la rue ne permettant pas d avoir une obscurité complète pour bien dormir, pas de couverture ou oreillers supplémentaires. Parking à 24€ la nuit beaucoup trop cher. Beaucoup d espace et situation idéale gâché par le manque de calme de l appartement, investir dans du double vitrage est une priorité absolue pour honorer la promesse d un séjour romantique ( etre réveillé en pleine nuit par des hurlements dans la rue n'est pas particulièrement agréable). Le personnel du Check in est très agréable et serviable

Great Stay!

When we got to the hotel to collect the key they were very accommodating and helpful especially as we believed we were running late. Once in the room we were shocked at how big the apartment was. The images do not give it justice! It was so homely with everything you needed. It was perfect for when we wanted to stay in in the evenings and could just watch Netflix. Definitely worth the stay and is directly in the centre. Was a five minute walk to the Burg and Market! FABULOUS STAY!

Steps away from everything, but also secluded

The room we had (Sophie's Choice) was a comfortable space for three people. Kitchenette was useful for morning coffee and small bites before venturing out. Bathroom is typical Euro-small and has an opaque door... no shyness amongst friends here. Location is excellent, no street noise at all. Staff was incredibly friendly/helpful (note: front desk & parking is provided by The Swan Hotel, around the corner). I'll definitely return here.

Perfect location; Great facilities

Great location, use of bicycles a bonus. Spacious area for family with kitchen (saved us ££ in expensive Bruges). A couple of small issues that we will take up with owner privately, but we would certainly return to this guesthouse and appreciated its many advantages for a pleasant stay in Bruges.

Väldigt tacksamt och bra läge! Wi-fi ingick i bokningen. Inte så barnanpassat. Vårt köksbord var ca 50cm ovanför barnstolen. Den stora sängen låg påsett loftet,det innebar att barnsängen inte fick plats där så vi sov på bäddsoffan nere i köket. Skulle inte rekommendera till barnfamiljer. Hade dålig koll på att det var en barnfamilj med en ettåring trots att det stod i bokningsbekräftelsen! Vi hade svårt att hitta till Die Swan där nycklarna skulle hämtas och de accepterade bara kontanter.
