"In easy reach of local amenities & restaurants, beach view and friendly staff. Only downside was flight was delayed so arrived after 23;30hrs, no tea or coffee making facilities in room, no food or snacks available at hotel and no local restaurants, eateries or shops open."

"Absolutely incredible stay. The staff is SO friendly and welcoming, rooms are beautiful and very easy to access even after reception is closed, as everything simply requires a passcode. They clearly love this building and its history, and put a lot of care and love into designing the hotel experience. Excellent food nearby and the breakfast was terrific. Would love to stay again on our next visit"

"Staff were helpful, the room was clean and parking was on site which was nice. The grounds around the hotel were quite nice which had many orange and lemon trees loaded with fruit. Pool was being cleaned when we were there and we would not go into the pool even though staff said that we could. It was quite dirty. The hotel is about a 20 minute ride into the heart of Coimbra. We would recommend a taxi or Uber since parking is very hard to find in Coimbra. "

"We have been returning customers in this hotel for a few years now, we have to start saying that the staff are always friendly and helpful, so kudos to them.. What I have found out is that due to the terrible storms they have experienced a lot of water damage, the room where I was staying, the water was inside the walls and around the windows, this was covered behind the curtains, there was also mold building up inside the walls which I could smelled it as soon as I have entered the room; the same day I went to the receptionist and she gladly found a room in a lower floor, no water damage but the toilet wasn’t working properly, and only because the hotel was fully booked due to a bicycle race happening in the city that weekend we couldn’t ask for a better room. The staff was doing their best to pleased everyone, I understand that this is a very difficult times due to the situation but the hotel should have someone check all the rooms and make sure that they are a okay to receive guests. I hope they get it together here soon and become again the clean and fabulous boutique hotel they used to be."
