My boyfriend and I just got back and we’re already counting down until we can return. From check-in, the staff went above and beyond — everyone was so sweet, and it felt like 5-star Michelin treatment the whole stay.
Our room was cleaned twice a day with a lovely turndown service — cute notes and sweets left on the bed every night. The room had a beautiful outdoor shower and bathtub, perfect for a romantic touch. When our TV had an issue, staff replaced it immediately. Free water was restocked daily.
Breakfast was incredible — so many options, but we couldn’t get enough of the fried rice and bihun goreng plus made-to-order coffee included free. It kept us full until dinner! Room service was also quick and delicious.
Can’t recommend Kamandalu enough. We’ll be back!

Great location, fantastic clean room and a good breakfast. Overall, the hotel itself was very nice and we enjoyed our stay.
Unfortunately, the VIP experience was disappointing. I booked this hotel specifically because it was a VIP hotel, however, I didn’t really experience any of the VIP perks that influenced my decision to book the hotel.
Given this, I do wonder whether the hotel’s VIP status should be reconsidered, or whether there needs to be better staff training and communication around what VIP guests are entitled to.
The hotel itself was great, but unfortunately the VIP experience didn’t live up to expectations.
