Kiota Inn & Event Center Sutter Creek, an Ascend Collection Hotel
8/10 Good
"This is a wonderful modern hotel. It is possibly the nicest hotel in the Sutter Creek area. The hotel is well maintained and the rooms are excellent. The beds are extremely comfortable. I really liked the modern shower. Their staff is polite and very helpful. A large television is in the room with a large selection of cable channels. You could not however sign into and use your personal apps such as You Tube or Netflix on their television. They have a basic complimentary breakfast, which includes things like cereal, boiled eggs, pastries, and juice. They also have a make your own waffle machine. The breakfast did not include cooked items like scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, or potatoes."
"We have always stayed in room 1, at the top of the original building, but this time we switched it up to a suite, in the second building. The suite was gorgeous and so big! Loved having our own private balcony and fireplace. Beautifully appointed. Missing were batteries for the candles except one, (a little bit unfortunate, not a deal breaker with the amazing lighting options) And sadly, the pillows were awful, (for a suite there should be down pillows on at least 2 of 4.) Check in was a breeze! though it was a little disconcerting to have housekeeping waiting at exactly 11:00 for us to exit right outside of our door- this could have been just a few minutes more discreet. Other than that, it’s always lovely at 161! Highly recommend.❤️"
"This motel was so dirty and in very disrepair. Spend a little more or plan to drive a little farther for something else in the area. The picture on the website is very deceiving."
"Daytime staff were great, hotel generally clean and good, we liked the breakfast in particular. The night shift when we checked in was a bit unhelpful with getting us set up with a crib and we had to improvise a bit."
"The rooms/carpets need to be deodorized; rooms smell very stale as though perhaps smoking in the rooms was once allowed. The staff could be more helpful during check-in by directing you to the correct of three buildings, for your stay."
