"The staff were polite and friendly. The hotel was clean and in a great location. We had an evening meal and breakfast. Both were excellent."

"This is our second visit to the hotel. We had a double room for three nights, that was showing slight signs of wear and tear. The room was very clear, although when I asked the lady who was cleaning our room for a toilet roll, she explained I would have to go to reception as she did have any. We also left towels in the bath to be replaced, they were folded up and put back on the side without being replaced. All the staff were very friendly, particularly the staff on reception. We ate breakfast at the golf course club house. It was very reasonably priced and delicious."

"The room was clean, though there were some long hairs on the folded clean towels. Staff were very friendly, very helpful. Breakfast was nice and had a reasonable selection for being included in the price of the room. My only big complaint was you can’t open a window and the aircon didn’t really cool the room at all (setting were correct for cooling the room) but it was still very warm after a couple of hours. Still managed to get a bit of sleep, but the roon was very warm. "

"Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and had everything we needed - we asked for more green tea at reception which was supplied immediately. Parking - we were very pleased we arrived early on the day (around 10 am) and were able to leave the car in the car park then even though we obviously couldn’t check in. Spaces were at a premium and as we had functions to attend all day that were walkable it was great to have the car secure and not have to worry about getting a space later on. Bed was comfortable but the aircon went off in the middle of the night which was a bit annoying as we got very hot. Breakfast was in a nice airy room with a view of the waterfront. Lots of choice - cooked, pastries, toast, cereal, fruit. Cooked items were not quite as hot as I’d like but cappuccino from coffee machine was delicious. Pleasant staff - shout out for the young lady who had recently broken her jaw - very sweet and friendly. All in all, impressed with hotel and would definitely look to stay with Doubletree Hilton on future travels."

"On entry of the Hex Hotel the car park is a short distance from the hotel entrance, there is no drop off point immediately outside the reception area, eg - if it was raining your items would be quite if not not entirely soaked. My advice is to park up first, sign in at the Hotel Reception and then collect a porters trolley for your luggage from the reception area. However if you are able to carry all your items in one go then great. Staff are friendly, polite and inform you are all the important notices to make your stay pleasing. Our room was a double, parkside, which was so nice to wake upto, it was clean, had all the ammenties required for your stay and I am very particular. However, if you are used to soft towels, please bring your own, these are very rough, in our eyesand the shower is fantastic. On our last night we had an issue with the safe, the number did not work, it continually kept asking for an ecode, at this point we contacted reception and someone came immediately to sort this out. They elementated all possiblities and unfortunately was not able to resolve this, due to be a fault on the safe, so there was 2 options - 1. remain in the room, as we were checking out the following morning, or 2. relocate to another room, but it was nice that the option was available and very apologetic. Excellent stay and would highly recommend."

"Room was massive, although 2 weddings were in the same weekend as our stay, it was still quiet. Fabulous bathroom facilities in the room. Beds were comfy. Breakfast was fresh, plenty of choice."

"Parking was easy. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and clean. The beer garden was nice to sit in, although some areas would benefit from a little tlc. The menu was average, but nice food. We would stay there again. "
