"A charming rustic resort for adventure seekers! The character and history of the place captivated us. Walking around the grounds it was like visiting a place frozen in time but with basic modern amenities and a wonderful countryside ambience. Such a welcome departure from the sterile chain hotels! As some said it does have a sort of an upscale campground vibe, which we loved, but without the high prices! A campground cabin you don't get a private bath, air conditioning etc. This was much nicer! And the room was very clean as was the pool. Perfect! One cavet-the room has a fridge but no microwave or coffee pot but they are offered in the hall with free coffee and also games, seating, and even a piano I couldn't resist playing! We brought our own hotpot for tea and coffee. There are even basketball and tennis courts. The shower was hot and powerful. The beds were comfortable. Some issues with noise, the walls are thin so sound travels. Another guest blasting their TV but one call to the desk and it was immediately taken care of. Of note they dont have after hours service. I did some digging on the history of the place. it is facinating! Sadly there was a devistating fire that did damage and the original hotel is not in use, some things need repair, but I saw projects everywhere they were working on. The place has been through a lot and so have the owners and can really use the support so we are glad we took a chance. Would love to see it restored to it's former glory!"
