"Great staff, very helpful! I had issues with my door code and was immediately moved to a different room which was appreciated. The rooms are sufficient and budget-friendly. The location is very convenient to shops and restaurants with a very short drive to the lighthouse and area beaches which is why I chose this hotel. I wanted to be close to top birding spots and was not disappointed!"

"My daughter and I had a quick trip through Buxton. We were very happy with the cleanliness of the room and location for our trip. Laura was helpful w/ questions and offering advice as we continued our travel. Would definitely visit the Swell Motel again!"

"Our main problem was noise from 2 different barking dogs. We approached management (they can only be messaged, no one is actually there to help). They essentially were rude, told us repeatedly that they are "pet friendly" (meaning they didn't feel like assisting us to have a nice vacation). I reminded them of their legal duties to maintain a peaceful property. They actually decided to tell me they were fine with me HAVING TO CALL THE POLICE about a barking dog....you get the idea...they also suggested I confront a 6'5 total stranger with 120 pound dog about his barking dog! I'm 5'2, 122 lbs senior citizen. Great idea....sarcasm. I left a note and heard the man out there cursing! I'm glad I knew better than to get myself assaulted. Icemaker doesn't work, no onsite help, noise high. Great location on the beach. Clean enough. Not maintained very well. Low end furniture. Matress fine. Great shower pressure. Pool is good for now, but was a low end remodel that will deteriorate rapidly. "Pet Friendly" is no excuse for being "Human Unfriendly." Terrible manager."

"We arrived late, not until 1145 pm. They left a key, the room was comfortable, large, everything worked. We had Room #20. Slept 5 with plenty of room."

Tower Circle Motel

"Difficult review to do - this area has been damaged by hurricanes and it’s very evident in surrounding area. This mom and pop type motel was built in the late 50’s - a small one story brick building with only 11 units. The owners/ managers aren’t on site. When we pulled in, we were ready to leave. HOWEVER - the owner happened to be there and showed us the units. They were spotless. Floors were clean, beds had nice white linens, towels were big white and fluffy. Small refrigerator and microwave. Window AC unit worked well, although it was very noisy. The rooms were smaller than the picture, and no closet or hooks to hang anything. We stayed for 2 days and considering how badly Buxton took a hit from hurricanes, the motel was super clean and we slept well. Great restaurants nearby, beautiful beach just down the road with many people fishing. The lighthouse is just on the next street ( covered with scaffolding right now, being repaired). All in all, the area is storm damaged, but motel is clean and we had restful sleep."
