Soho Boutique Casa Don Fernando

"Our stay at Soho Boutique Casa Don Fernando was a mixed experience. Unfortunately, our first night was very uncomfortable because the air conditioning in our room was not working. The hotel quickly moved us to another, larger room on the same floor, but unfortunately, the air conditioning had the same problem. Since they could not move us to another room until the following day, we had no choice but to sleep in the heat, which was extremely uncomfortable and almost impossible, especially in the middle of summer in Spain. The following day, we were moved to a different room on another floor, where thankfully everything was working properly. We appreciated that the hotel ultimately found a solution. On the positive side, the location is excellent—very central and within walking distance of restaurants, shopping, and, most importantly, the incredible history surrounding Cáceres. The historic setting and architecture around the hotel were truly impressive and made the visit to this beautiful city worthwhile. Overall, the air conditioning issue definitely affected our experience, particularly the first night, but the central location and historic surroundings are definite highlights."

"Lovely hotel in great location within Cáceres old town and overlooking a plaza. Lots of restaurants within walking distance as well as all local attractions. Hotel itself is an old Palacio so very atmospheric but stairs to contend with for some rooms if you have bags but staff very helpful. Great breakfast, happy to recommend."

"Apt with 2 twin beds in bedroom, and two pullout sofa bed twins in living room. Also two bathrooms each with a shower and a kitchen with mini fridge and hot plate. Even eating utensils were provided. Apt did have air conditioning, but due to an extreme heat wave it did have trouble keeping up, but by evening we actually had to use blankets. Remember, many places don't have AC, but this host did his absolute best to insure comfort of travelers as much as possible. Host was exceptional and got us in an additional night due to other plans we had that fell through. Would definitely recommend this apartment. Also located in city historic area with a lot of night life all within walking distance. Also paid parking across the street and free street parking."

"Three of us stayed for one night here, we arrived late but were welcomed on arrival, and directed to the underground parking. The hotel is a little quirky which made a nice change from the usual bland hotel rooms, with brass style showers and copper sinks and ornate wood carving on the doors etc. Our overnight accommodation was very reasonable at 60 euros each, which included breakfast so excellent value. The only downside we noted was for those that were staying at the front of the property, we struggled to get a good night's sleep, there was quite a lot of noise in the square into early hours and building work started at 7am, we were also staying at a time when the weather was very warm even at night and the air con in the room whilst set to on, could not be increased so the room was hot. The team were lovely and the breakfast was good too, with wonderful coffee provided. I would certainly stay again as Cacares is a lovely place and despite the noise you are in a good spot near bars, shops etc"
