Check in process took 40 mins so digital keys and online check in process wasn't fully operating/helpful for late at night (wasn't staffed 24/7 which is what the listing said. Well after paying for booking an email came saying no 24 hour front desk anymore (main reason I chose here). Pics in the hotel listing are misleading in that they show windows in rooms that appear to open towards outside of building like normal windows but they only face the hallway/common area. Floors in my solo room were not cleaned before I got here - many different hair types on floor - bloody gross. Ceiling fan very dirty also. Air conditioning split system unit is on but remote not available so can't adjust climate control. Square vent next to AC unit expels very warm air through a very dirty opening and it can't be controlled from room so overall the room was quite uncomfortable and stuffy. Who pumps warm air and unadjustable air-con air into a room simultaneously, in the tropics, during a heat wave?! Hotel says that they conduct daily housekeeping but this was not the case for my room (2 night stay). Small waste bin in room not emptied and it was full as by the door to room. Also, there is a patch of mold on the wall just below and to the right of air conditioning unit. Have taken pictures of all of this to show (if interested) that I am not exaggerating. Generally the complex is quite loud with large gaps at bottom of room doors allowing sound to echo across polished concrete floors

Check in was great, friendly and quick. Only issue was coming back to the hostel at night when reception was closed, the app used to open the doors did not work. Rang the phone number but no answer. Another guest had the same issue until a third guest tried and the door opened. They rang back over an hour later once I was asleep. Had the other guest not been able to open the door, I would not have been able to get in. Yet the app worked to open the door to my room

Very central location but uber drivers are not familiar with the hostel. Select pick up or drop off area at different landmark such as Timezone, Woolworths or Art Gallery. Can be a bit noisy outside at night as expected with central locations

The private room we stayed in was clean and quiet. Check in was easy and front desk staff were always friendly. On our day of check out they let us store luggage for the day as we didn’t leave town until the evening which was a great help! The bathrooms ran out of paper products a few times and the bathrooms and kitchen were not the cleanest in comparison to other hostels along the east coast, but it was nothing too notable and overall we had a positive experience! The location is incredible and we were within walking distance of everything we could’ve hoped for, including pick up spots for day tours. Free breakfast included toast, coffees & teas. I would recommend this property and would say the highlights were the location and the quiet rooms.

Worst hotel ever! Went to our private room and the door didn’t lock. Receptionist came up and checked it out and realized she couldn’t fix it, gave us the option to go to a dorm room instead. We chose a private room and paid extra for it. Figured we’d be just as good in the unlocked room as we would be in a shared dorm with who knows how many people. She assured us the handyman would come the next day, they didn’t it. How long has this room lock not work? It’s very obvious as soon as you close the door because the door mechanism on the side of door is pushed in and doesn’t pop out, I took pictures. At least the guest before us had the same issue, and I’m sure the guest after us will. At check out they request you strip the bed, that was the thing that grossed us out (I took pictures for proof). Absolute disgusting. The mattress pad had body fluid stains in a few places, and the pillows were in worse condition. One of the pillows was brown stained. If you want guests to strip the beds make sure your bedding is in at least good condition. Would never stay again or recommend to use this place Checkout is 10AM, why do they close the female bathroom at 9AM to clean it? It definitely needed done but wait the extra hour to do so, you have people who want to use the bathroom before checking out so had to wait for the cleaning to be done

It is what it says it is. When you walk in the first gate you walk past a sign that says “ unisex waxing” you start to assume the worst. Facilities were clean, Just like a campsite. Beds however, mine had a stain on it and so friends ‘fluffy’ blanket was not being used. Some PowerPoints didn’t work. No window. We left after the first night to stay elsewhere.

Handy to Sea front and dining areas. Staff helpful on arrival and also helped with using app for room and hostel access. Bathroom area old but well maintained. A bit of guest noise late at night. Very basic room nothing flash for sure but clean tidy and comfortable enough for my 1night stay.

I already wrote a review about this place. It wasn’t advertised as a hostel and when I got there I needed to download an application (Goki), which did not work to open the main door. There wasn’t any manager either, just a guy without a shirt who changed the combination number given to me through email. He obviously knew the combination of my room, even when I changed it in front of him as he looked at it along with his friend. I got a bad vibe about the place, used the restroom, which was filthy, and booked for another place. I WANT EXPEDIA TO REFUND ME.

Great location! Couple of things to improve. My room had no hangers for towels, shelves for personal belongings, had a small locker with no hands! Needs a stronger enforcement of curfew to noise in main room area. Great location CBD walking distance to a lot of dining areas in the marina

Super location. Walking distance to restaurants, supermarket, Esplanade, meeting spot for local tours. Clean (except for the kitchen). Stuffy in room & public area (probably due to the somewhat tropical weather of Cairns).

The doors closers need to be adjusted to stop the slaming of doors from slaming, the gents toilets floors when wet are dangerous and should be closed till dry also some cleaning times when open/closed , the floor in the family room had sand on it were the vac/cleaner has not worked and the mop can not pick it up and the floor needs to be sweeped with a soft broom then vac. The noise is to stop at 10 pm as per house rules but a party was still going on 2,3/9/22 down in the kitchen area this needs to be stoped and the party should be outside in the garden area outside the entrance. The place is verry nice and most patrons were polite and staff were helpfull and the pin door system is great after getting how to use the system. The air cond in room 212 was cold and did ask a staff member at recpeton and left my mob phone number and heard nothing and why is the control for the air/cond not left in the room were it should be so the room temp can be raised or lowered by the tenant not having the unit sitting on apox 21deg. SMOKING should be only outside of the building there a health issue were tenants are eating out on the nice deck and SMOKING should NOT were there is food and a kitchen area close by. I hope to return soon and my self and my wife did enjoy our short stay. Thanks Robert Horn

ケアンズエスプラネードから近く、品揃えが豊富なwoolworthsも出入り口を出てすぐ近くにあります。部屋や、出入り口の施錠をgokiというアプリで管理しているので、鍵の紛失は心配指しませんでした。また、事前にチェックインやチェックアウトについての案内をExpediaのメッセージ機能を使って連絡をくれたので、大変助かりました。 ホステルなので、キッチン、トイレ、シャワーについてはタイミングが悪いと、ホステルに慣れていない日本人にとってはあまり気分が良くないかもしれませんが、今まで過ごしたホステルに比べると、きれいにされていました。スタッフも、頻繁に掃除をしていました。 しかし、部屋にエアコンはあったのですが、窓は無かったので、換気が十分にされているか気になりました。 それでもベッドは清潔でしたし、内装も明るい感じで、窮屈な感じはしませんでした。 機会があればまた滞在したいです。

Staff were friendly, cool and accomodating in my request. Clean as hell! Modern and funky. Chilled vibe. Venue is in a central location and they give you clear instructions on how to enter and exit the establishment. I stayed in a private room and had no issues. Want reasonable place to stay in heart of cairns… look no further - Cheers Freedom Cairns!

Central city location - perfect
We got to Freedom Cairns later than expected due to flight delays however we got an email prior to reception closing checking when our ETA was and we were able to communicate re using Goki (app for door lock) and other info which was very reassuring. Getting into accommodation was easier than i expected and felt extremely safe. The location was brilliant and the room was very spacious. The showers and toilets were clean and there were never any queues. Great accommodation for r groups, singles or families

Nice enough place but no guest control. Someone fighting around midnight people running up and down the corridors all night doors opening and slamming all night someone on their phone? at 2am talking in foreign language outside in corridor
