This is one of the finest hotels we have ever stayed in. Located on the woods and near a river. With beautiful Gardens and swimming pool. The staff was very gentle and helpful and the restaurant with and excellent cuisine. We stayed only on night and wish to come back again.

Excellent hotel in country setting. If you want tranquility you will find it here. Very peaceful setting. Beautiful river run next and throughout hotel grounds. Wonderful breakfast. Rosana and all the staff very nice, helpful, and professional.

On our 20 night Camino de Santiago journey there has not been a better hotel than Torre do Rio. Every small detail is amazing from the decor to the comfort to the food to the grounds… we are so glad we did a two night stay here and made it one of our rest days! We are already dreaming of coming back. I have thought long and hard about anything that I would suggest be improved and the only item I could mention here is the WiFi - it was slow at times and a bit unreliable. Other than that, this was a 12 out of 10!

Beautiful property! Too bad we only spent one night. This hotel you will want to stay longer. It feels like you are in a very fancy country mansion! Bed is comfortable and food is delicious! Staff was a pleasure and made us feel welcome!

This is a one of a kind outstanding boutique hotel. The building and grounds are impeccable and first class. Service was friendly and discreet. You are surrounded by trees and a river runs around over half the property. The library with wood burning fire place is ideal for a before or after dinner drink. If you ever find yourself within 200km of this place, detour and spend a few days relaxing at this sanctuary.

Little piece of paradise

What a magical place! The staff is lovely and the rooms are absolutely beautiful. The town of Caldas de Reis doesn't have a lot to offer, but the hotel is so perfect, you truly never have to leave. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and while the queso on the pulpo toast wasn't so great, everything else was wonderful. The bed is a dream and the sheets are super luxurious. We visited in February and I woke up and enjoyed a cold plunge in the river pool- what an experience. I highly recommend this hotel!

This hotel is magic! The most beautiful amazing experience you could imagine. I found it by coincidence. It blew my mind. It is an absolute dream. Everyone should experience this place! This is what life is truly about! The river turns into a waterfall that feeds the luxurious pool as well!
