  • Let me preface these discoveries by saying that I ended up in Calella haphazardly. It is not necessarily a town that I would generally recommend. It is not your traditional Spanish/Catalan dream destination. It very much looks like something the 70's spit out and no one ever bothered to clean up. With that said, I freaking love this little freakish town, which I quickly & affectionately nicknamed "The Twilight Zone." The strangest occurrences happened throughout the month, yes MONTH, I lived in Calella. Apparently since the 70's, Calella, was a booming tourist destination for Western Europeans and the British. It has been on a massive decline over the past decade. What's left behind though are some fun Dutch and English/Irish pubs, a small welcoming expat community, and one of the most incredible beaches you will ever lay your eyes on. Beautiful clean white sand for miles and crystal clear turquoise water. Parties & bars on the beach, some free concerts in the summer time and of course drinking it allowed as well. If you happen to find yourself here, you must stop in at Beach Boys Club, tell the owners, Brian & Cathy, that Amber sent you. Then hit up Brian for his secret stash of American imported Budweiser (Did you know the bottled stuff is always produced in country? Brian believes the secrets in the water, so he gets the cans from the US. Brian is British, which makes this little story even better.) Also, be prepared to eat a lot of rotisserie chicken.

I travelled to take part in Ironman Barcelona. This place is in a perfect location, start line is almost just across the road. Rooms are spacious and bright. Staff are very friendly. And the roof terrace is a nice place to chill by the pool.

Well positioned, good value

Hotel very close to great beach. Also free parking at the back of the beach, although finding a space can be tricky sometimes. Great value for money.

The location was perfect for the beach, shopping and train station, although the trains passed in front of the hotel and were noisy. The hotel was clean, the staff were friendly and helpful. The bedroom was basic and the bathroom was a little dated but it was clean and comfortable. Would recommend for a budget hotel.

The staff was not really pleasant. They seemed angry all the time. The Hotel needs some serious upgrades. The rooms were really noisy. We could not sleep for all our staying because of the noise.

Lovely Hotel

This hotel is lovely! it is just off the beach and ideal for the old town with plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. It is a short 3/4 minute walk to the railway station that is just down the road where we took the train for a day in Barcelona. From the minute we arrived we were very well looked after by the staff, nothing was too much trouble for them. We opted for the all inclusive option with the intention of eating out in town some nights but this never happened!. Our room was cleaned daily. The rooftop swimming pool was fab - although for myself it would have been nice to have some sunshades up there. The bar area was lovely with a courtyard which was very pleasant. Myself and friend would recommend this hotel for a relaxing stay.

Wir haben ein sehr schöne 3 Tage hier verbracht. Alles war in der unmittelbare Näche (wie zum Beispiel: Fussgängerzone, Einkaufmöglichkeiten, Strand, Bahnhof) Frühstück war ausreichend. Leider wegen die schlechte Wettersituation zu Hause wir müssten 2 Tage früher das Hotel verlassen. Hoffentlich wir kommen im nächste Jahr wieder.

Keine Parkmöglichkeiten, eine Stunde einen Parkplatz besucht. Pool ab 19Uhr geschlossen und öffnet erst am nächsten Morgen um 10Uhr. Personal bemühtund auch besondere Lösungen zu finden.

Wij waren om 3 u s nachts aangekomen, er is iemand bij de receptie 24/7 ze zijn heel vriendelijk. Wij hadden een kamer op uitzicht naar de zee echt mooi om voor te slapen naar de zee te kijken/luisteren of wanneer jij wakker wordt. Alleen vond ik het lastig dat onze buren elke ochtend om 6u s morgens 2-3x de deur heel hard dicht deden en veel lawaai maakten met hun kamer sleutels. Voor de rest hotel zelf was heel aangenaam en proper! Treinstation is 5min stappen, strand is echt voor hotel alleen moet jij 2 min stappen om te kunnen oversteken (wegens treinsporen) Auto kan jij gratis bij de parking van treinstation of strand parkeren. S nacht’s na 1u-2u is er niemand op straat te zien dus als jij auto bij strand of treinstation parkeert is het zeker niet gevaarlijk, er is veel politie die telkens rond rijdt om te controleren.

wirklich ein nettes Hotel, Essen gut, Pool auf dem Dach ist mega!! Das einzige war, dass wir ein Zimmer nach vorne im ersten Stock hatten, hier fährt die Bahn direkt vorbei, was ziemlich laut war, also unbedingt ein Zimmer nach hinten nehmen!! Ansonsten top Preis - Leistungsverhältnis!!

Tranquilo, no había niños,buffet desayuno MUY completo,calidad aceptable. Sólo eché de menos algo más de fruta fresca. Pero genial igualmente Habitaciones amplias,la mía con vistas en diagonal al mar,con balconcito. Se ve un poco anticuado, lo digo para los más exquisitos,yo estuve muy bien. Sólo falta nevera en la habitación,y cabe perfectamente...... Piscina muy bien, excepto pq no hay ni un lugar con sombra, en julio- agosto... Es la segunda vez que estoy en este hotel y volvería.
