"At breakfast, the juice machine was broken, so no juice was available. When I asked the receptionist whether they could perhaps provide bottled orange juice, she was very unfriendly, even rude. There was no apology or even acknowledgment of the inconvenience. I then simply asked whether they might have some oranges instead, and a staff member responded with a very angry “NO,” practically yelling in my face. Not having juice at breakfast is really no big deal. But being treated this way as a guest was very unpleasant and really turned my stomach. The problem was not the lack of juice—it was the attitude of the staff."

"The hotel stay was great. Comfortable, clean rooms, nice breakfast included in stay. Have had a host to seat in past but not this visit. REAL dishes, cups, glasses, silverware, napkins which is a great change up from paper, plastic and such. Nice breakfast options. The staff was very helpful at check in. Easy check out. The hotel is not so close to Paso that you can walk. The only drawback but it IS very near for a quick drive. Fun town to explore and lots of vineyards nearby to enjoy if interested. They do have a Happy Hour with drinks and some foods available for a cost. Have not tried that before but have enjoyed the hotel several times over the years."

"My wife and I did a 2 week trip through California and Oregon and stayed at 9 different places and the Piccalo was hands down the nicest of the places we stayed. As soon as we pulled up, the valet was there to help us with our luggage. The front desk staff was very welcoming and got us checked in quickly. We had a ground floor room with a nice outdoor area to sit in the courtyard. We had a nice handwritten card thanking us and wishing us a nice stay. The room was spotless had a lot of nice amenities. They even offer turndown service with chocolates. They offer a complimentary glass of wine on their rooftop restaurant each afternoon. It's in a great location to walk around downtown Paso Robles. We're already planning a return trip. Would recommend 100%."

"We only stayed for one night but we'd definitely stay again. The room was very clean and updated. Nothing was peeling off the wall - it was in tip top shape. We were there on a busy weekend and it was very quiet. We interacted with 3 different staff members and they were all very nice and helpful."
