Drug addicts and homeless people everywhere outside as well as inside. Room reeked of cigarette smoke. Hotel was run down. I felt unsafe, would not go back. Staff was nice.

Liquor store on one side, free bath/laundry house on other. Homeless and addicted persons all around and in the property. Given one light bulb for three lamps. Missing half of a shower door. No blankets. 43 degrees and boiler heat not turned on yet. Bugs in bathroom. No ice machine or vending. No food service or restaurant. Broken chairs. Desk staff usually found outside smoking.

The lobby is gorgeous, I've never seen such clean and shiny floors anywhere, and the staff and residents were super helpful and welcoming. You are one block from a boardwalk and the ferry to Quadra, and a block away from Shoppers Row so the location is prime. This hotel, however, seems to be a combination of hotel and low-income rentals in an area of town with a lot of homeless people in the surroundings. The smell of cigarette smoke is pervasive (BUT not in our room AT ALL). I'd stay here again, especially now that I know the clientele and area.

Ok for quick night's stay and somewhere to crash - it was cheap and you get what you pay for. I would not recommend if you were wanting to go on holiday. But it is great cheap place to sleep over

Very old and unkept propertry. It appears that the hotel is used to house marginalized people and the smell of cigarettes is overwhelming. Cockroaches were present. Expedia should do a better job of vetting the accomadations they are promoting.

To the left of hotel liquor store. To the right of hotel community kitchen. There are some unfortunate souls that congregate in the area. Never felt unsafe but some scenes may be disturbing for some.

i would not come to this inn again. the whole building is dirty, smell very bad thou out the hall way, elevator and room, room is very dirty, alot of junky around the building and check in area all the time. fire hose got tooken out.

I liked the view, the comfy bed but the rest was shabby. Floor boards lifting, bathroom floor broken, pictures hooks on the wall but no picture, bathroom tub abysmal, just generally not kept up. Old screws left by air conditioner (which worked well). The staff were friendly and helpful, loved the antique furniture in the entrance main room. Although it was comfortable it needs some serious renovations and painting to bring it up to a visibly more acceptable standard.

Locked out of room with broken battery lock but serviced relatively quickly. Woman at desk very helpful to solve(Brenda and Bob) Many bugs on floor is cause for co cern. Found. Something in room very sketchy.

The staff and their service is excellent but the entire building has the smell of marijuana and I could see some people staying there have left their doors open and smoking, it’s an inconvenience to the non smokers and creates an unsafe feeling

The hotel is really old and it seems there has not been much maintenance done to it. The room had a lot of bugs (mainly fruit flies) and the bedding didn't look very clean. Upon arrival a homeless lady walked into the main entrance and when the staff member at the counter asked her to leave, the homeless lady threw her with a plastic bottle that was standing on the counter. This happened while me and my 11 year old daughter was standing there.

The property was as described. Clean and quiet. It’s not fancy but for a single night between destinations it was just what we needed. It was very safe despite other reviews. People with home scarcity aren’t by default dangerous.
