"Centrally located property. The beach is three blocks away. The staff are friendly and helpful. They texted us immediately after our arrival for help us locate the property. There’s security at the gate. It was quiet and peaceful. My only issue was not having running water for 30 mins. "

"Positive: It is safe, spacious, private, very short walk to the beach, near food store, clean, good WiFi, locked parking lot, self service check in and out, swimming pool, kitchen, micro oven and electric range, refrigerator. Negative: Relatively old property, no views from windows, gravel access road with path holes but this is common even to upscale resorts."

"A very new property conveniently close to the Liberian airport. My room was spacious, very clean, well appointed and comfortable. The bathroom was clean and had everything you could need. I had dinner at the pool side bar/restaurant. The staff were very attentive and friendly. My meal was nice and well presented. I didn’t try the pool but it looked awesome. Breakfast was served buffet style and plentiful. The hotel staff were polite and very helpful. The airport shuttle great. I will definitely stay at the hotel again."

My great Costa Rican Adventure

"It was delightful. the staff friendly and helpfulas delightful. Our rooms were spacious and clean. My room had plenty of hot water in the mnodern, spacious showere. Plenty of thick towels and good soap and shampoo. The grounds were being cleaned constantly. The only complant I have is a safety one: there should be better lighting on the stairs leadig to the bar and restaurant. It is very dim and it would be easy to fall. The staff's ability to communicate well in English was very helpful to those of us wth limited Spanish. the entire staff was very impressive. The howler monkey preserve on site was wonderful, The monkeys were amusing and fun to watch and listen to. It isd such a good thing that this hotel participates in their protection and preservation. Our party of three were very pleased with every aspect of our stay and would like to return. The coffee and breakfasts were delicious and fresh. The cocktails were well-made and we learned to love the national cocktail, the guaro sour. "

"We have stayed with Rio Guanacaste in the past and enjoyed our stay and loved every part of it… However, this day was slightly different, although the entertainment staff was awesome, and the events at the hotel from shows to the bar and pool stuff was great room service was very reserved on filling the minibar and coffee in the room… I feel we had to ask continuously for that to be done and the servers at The main buffet we’re very standoffish and didn’t really do much ,This was the same at the buffet by the pool, where in the past they were always right there to greet you and wait on you from cleaning dishes to refilling your drinks… I didn’t need it done, but it was nice to have this service in the past and I used to tip well for it, even though it wasn’t the same this trip we still tipped and just hope it gets better in the future, especially for an all inclusive"

"Reserved this property strictly for the gluten free dining options. The rest was a wonderful surprise! The hiking and waterfalls were amazing. The hot springs and mud bath were a relaxing treat. We paid extra for the zip line and river tubing which was the highlight of our trip. Staff were wonderful. Would definitely recommend! Just wish there were some nighttime activities or entertainment. "
