Not a pleasurable place to stay
A disappointing stay at Goan village. The pictures shown must be very old. The place needs a total renovation. There are no parasols around the pool, only 3 sunbeds. The place is not cleaned very efficiently, just a dirty old towel pushed around on the end of a mop. This was used to do lounge, bedroom, bathroom and common areas, never were any cleaning agents used, no disinfectant bleach, anything like that. Many of the 10mm thick pieces of glass on tables in the restaurant were chipped. The girl doing the cleaning held her hand out for tip before she'd even done anything and certainly wasn't left anything at the end. You do not expect staff to be holding their hand out for money when they have a job, they are not begging in the street. Some of our own toiletries went missing from the room before they were finished with. When told to the leaning supervisor nothing was done, or things replaced. We asked them to arrange a taxi to take us to the airport for our return home and paid in advance, at 2.0AM no taxi. Fortunately someone kindly shared their taxi with us, otherwise I don't know where we would have been. The tiles on the roof are all loose or missing. I know not important when it's 35deg and brilliant sunshine, but it just makes the place shabby and unappealing. There are rooms available in the immediate area for £15.00 with A/C that are more appealing than Goan Village. it is definitely not worth £50+ per night. I must say though the restaurant staff were very friendly

OK to stay! Do not expect much..
The hotel is a standard hotel, its not have any delux facility. Few rooms are very big with very basic facilities. Location is very nice, Beach is 5 min walk only. restaurant is not so impressive. Pool is good and surrounded with nice garden area. Over all its a ok hotel with this price range.

Nice place to stay for families.
We travelled as a family of 7 with 2 younger children. We all had a lovely relaxing time at Alegria - The Goan Village. Great location, many places to dine close by. Taxi drivers outside village were reliable and polite. We hired them daily to sight see. Rooms were comfortanle and spacious. We had a total of 3 rooms all close together. Breakfast was good. Staff in restaurant were very polite and helpful even purchasing fresh seafood for our family and cooking as a special dinner. Kids loved swimming in the pool. Nice to stay in a place that is not over crowded like some hotels and enjoy the peace and serenity.

Comfortable stay. Freidnly staff.
The stay was good and is a perfect stay to pick in Goa. There was an issue with the power through out our stay. Can understand due to heavy rain on one night. But the backup power could have been more better. The staff were all friendly. The placement of the AC in the room change will make the stay even better. This is not a negative feedback. Just to make it even better.

AWFUL HOTEL
The hotel is grossly misrepresented by the description on the Hotels.com website. Our room offered on arrival did not overlook the pool. The pillowtop bed with premium bedding had a stained mattress and sheets were ripped and had holes. The complimentary toiletries were a sliver of soap and a miniscule toilet roll. Reception had to be shown that complimentary water was included otherwise we would have been charged. The room was not in good repair and was not cleaned satisfactorily. The ceiling fan was hanging off and the a/c clattered and banged in the early morning. We had to insist on two clean bath and hand towels daily. Spare toilet rolls had to be requested

Mandatory New Years Eve dinner
When I booked 2 double rooms over the New Year weekend I was told that New Year eve dinner was mandatory. My printed receipt showed extra $70 per room for Dec 31. Imagine my outrage when I registered at the hotel on Dec 26, the manager was told to collect Rs 14,000 in cash (because the credit card machine was broken) for the mandatory dinner. Not only did I pay more for the room Rs 1300 per day as compared to the current going rate Rs 8000 per day, but they were also trying to soak me and family for extra Rs 14,000 for the dinner. They were not able to answer why that extra $70 /day was charged, specially since all hotels in the area had uniform high rate for that particular peak season. I refused to pay and happy not to attend the dinner party which had noisy music, was very lame and had forced gaiety. Definitely I would not not recommend this hotel, rooms are pretty dingy and over all quality worse than the worst motel in US.

Ok boende, men ta frukost någonstans!
