Hotel de la Cité Carcassonne - MGallery Collection
10/10 Excellent
"The hotel & grounds are beautiful. The swimming pool is positioned privately with views of the hotel & church. There’s lots of outside shaded seating areas in the garden with good bar service. The restaurant is excellent and good value for the standard with lots of ‘extras’. I’d recommend the wine pairing at €50 pp for 3 glasses, it’s worth it. The location with the castle backdrop is enchanting. Breakfast excellent too. The whole hotels is very dog friendly and there’s a individualised name welcome sign by the water bowl, no bed or treats provided but €20 per night isn’t bad for hotel standards.
The service is exemplary throughout. The welcome feels personal, we were first timers but felt like we were loyal returning guests. The manager even remembered my dogs name the following day.
We only stayed 1 night, 2 would be enough but with the service you receive I’d happily stay longer. Highly recommend!"
"Only ever designed as an overnight stop. 20 minutes walk to the airport. Shopping centre opposite as well. Rooms are a bit old fashioned but clean and tidy. Staff are all very friendly and helpful. Very cheap stay so nothing to complain about."
"L’accueil était très chaleureux et on nous a aidé tout au long du séjour. Je recommande vivement. La chambre quadruple était parfaite pour notre petite famille."
"The room was very clean. The staff was very friendly. The pool and Jacuzzi are unheated as Americans. We did not realize that Jacuzzis in France were unheated.
We were put off by this until we discovered that this is pretty much a universal thing in France that Jacuzzis are unheated.
They have a restaurant which we had an appetizer sampler and a few drinks and those were good.
The bed was extremely comfortable.
The plumbing was a little bit weird, and that we were on the ground floor, and when other people were using the plumbing, our sink would go lug, lug lug, and spit out a little bit of water. It gave it a little bit of character..
The most important thing is the view to Corazón is amazing, as far as public transportation which we used we did not rent a car. There are two convenient bus stops. There is one up at Corson, which is great for when you check in because then you’re carrying your bags downhill, and then there is a bus stop that is down the hill, which is convenient because again you’re not carrying your bags up the hill the buses in Corson run I think every 15 to 20 minutes, so very convenient location"
