If you wish to enjoy an All Inclusive resort you need to get the bracelet for it. Staying at Las Palmas you will receive a special rate or your book our sister hotel in the first place and stay at the economic section or sometimes calles super saver option Las Palmas. The location is right at the most beautiful beach I’ve ever been to with sugary sand and aqua waters. The noise level was not comfortable for us. Music in the park which was in the direction our balcony faced went on til the middle of the night. I did speak with staff about this and it is recommended to stay in the garden suites if you are noise sensitive. I would stay here again if I could get the garden suite.

In January 2020 I spent six days in this hotel and had to move five times from one unacceptable room to an other. I had the following problems with the room: 1, urine smell inside the room, 2, huge cockroaches in the room, 3, NO FIRE ALARM inside the room, 4, no working air conditioner and the temperature was around 30C, 5, the balcony door was stuck, 6, no phone in the room, 7, very dark room, 8, extremely loud music from the near park until 3 am, not possible to sleep. We asked the hotel for help but they were not helpful and sent us to check out the other room before we move - they said it’s the guest’s responsibility. We had to pack and carry the luggage. There is no lift but more buildings and we had to carry all our stuff with no help. Floors were covered in water and I fell once. I asked the staff to speak with the manager, the manager never came to talk to me, although I wanted to sort out many problems, didn't care about me. At first sight I liked the hotel, but after all this I will never go back there.

Good location, but the room needs a LOT of renovations. The bathroom is supper small and dirty and mirror old. I requested King bed and got two double beds. One of the beds was broken and made a lot of sound. No phone in the room either to talk to front desk. Extra fees at check in as well to be able to eat in the buffet. Good stay but i wouldn’t stay here again, for the price $215 plus $140 at check in.

The property is quite old. For the room, the biggest problem is the blankets. They were so dirty and wore out. The staff were not helpful at all. I’m not sure if it’s because we weren’t buying the all-inclusive package. Won’t go back again.

We really liked this property and will stay there again. We love Varadero and trying out the restaurants/eateries in the area so we purchased the European plan (breakfast only.) We cannot comment on the lunch or dinner meals, however, breakfast was delicious! By purchasing the European plan, we did not have access to the pool or the huts on the beach, but both areas looked to be very well-maintained. The staff were very friendly. The resort itself was very clean, even the public washrooms were cleaned regularly. The only negative aspect we encountered was the noise level at night. We were not in the main hotel but in one of the smaller units located on a side road across the street from the main hotel. There are two night clubs located not far from our room. We are not into the night scene and we found it a little hard to sleep with all the music. We were told by some other guests we spoke with that they did not have that problem. They were staying in the main hotel. The hotel itself was a nice surprise! We definitely give it a two-thumbs up!

Russ personell and bad conditions in the room
Overall, the service was not as expected for the price we payed. We experienced some problem with the door to our room - first it was open when we arrived, and there was pee in the toilet. After we told the reception, they just gave us new cards and sent us around a lot. When I finally told them I wasn’t satisfied and wanted to complain, they did not take it well. They were extremely rude and didn’t offer any compensation. I’m usually very satisfied with the hotels I book, and this was the only bad experience I had in Cuba.

Average hotel - Good Location
This hotel is more of a 'shell' hotel which seems to be an add on to the main all inclusive Starfish Cuatro Palmas which is located a block away next to the beach. There are only cleaners who are loud shouting at each other from 9am and the main security guard on the main door here. Check in and breakfast is located at the other hotel in a buffet style with a lot choose from (photos below show disused dining area and unmanned check in desk). The rooms are a bit dark but clean, with good beds and a hot shower. There are some TV channels to choose from and a loud air con unit in the room along with an empty fridge (not minibar). Wifi is available in the lobby area but you need the wifi cards you have to buy in Cuba which you can easily obtain at reception. As mentioned below by others you can use the pool and 'private' beach area sun loungers for an additional 35 CUCs ($35) per day per person. However we stayed on the sun loungers once without question. There are alternative options down the beach for 2 CUCs per lounger and 3 CUCs for an umbrella which offer the same view etc. There are several friendly resident cats too....However the location is good and close to the main restaurant and bar area which is handy. Therefore a decent option based on the price, but nothing special.

Hotel seemed ok at first, started to get ill when I got there and just thought I might be rundown (no real reason though). Then on the last day I was doing a room sweep to make sure I had everything, lifted up my pillow to find MOULD underneath my pillow. I've not got a pretty bad chesty cough and I'm pretty sure it was he mould that did it, as the timing was perfect. Don't stay here. I'd like some money back so I'm intrigued if they will reply to me...

Location is only good thing about this hotel
Food was very repetitive and not so good (not a surprise in Cuba)- for long stays I would completely avoid All inclusive and stay with B&B. Location is great! if you are allergic to cats avoid staying in this property. Services were very confusing, they provided beach towels and breakfast is on the main building by the beach, but you can't use the pool (which is fine). And depending on the security guard mood you might or not be able to use the sun loungers at the beach. Not a big issue since next door you can rent them 2CUC each and 3CUC for the umbrella. Restaurant and housekeeping teams very nice people! the rest of the staff could use some training, specially security teams. Rooms are very outdated and not as clean as you expect what you paying. If you decided to stay, avoid rooms facing to the park behind, very noisy at night and tons of mosquitos inside the rooms.

We had stayed in 2 different rooms because our first room was horrible and we requested a change. Our first room had 2 worms/maggots on the drapes, a live hopping frog inside of the shower and there was an incredibly overwhelming stench of moisture, also we had requested a 1 King size bed we had 2 single beds in the room. Our first room was on the first floor of the building that is to the left side of the green hospital/clinic. The second room we were assigned was much much much better, it was in the same building but on the second floor. The room did not have the moisture smell, no bugs/animals, when we had opened the window on our first room a cat had jumped inside of the room within in minutes :D. The only minus to our second room was that our bed was not that clean on the first day (our second day in the hotel) but that was taken care of the next day. We stayed at this hotel as a B&B you experience may change if you book the all-inclusive package. Most of the staff are friendly there was only 1 lady at the front desk which acted like she was being forced to work the entire time we stayed. She did not have a name tag but has long brown highlighted hair with glasses avoid her service if possible the other ladies are much friendlier and helpful. If you book this hotel as a B&B you need acknowledge that you cannot use the bar/restaurant even if you offer to pay per service,( first time I've encountered something like this).

Unable to rate hotel
Upon arrival at hotel, I was informed that Expedia had overbooked me, but had secured another reservation for me at Barcelo Solymar. I was pleased with The way both hotels and Expedia resolved the issue and found the Barcelo to be a nice upgrade to all inclusive without additional cost. Cannot comment further on the Starfish except to say it had my preferences of being adults only and slightly closer to the downtown area.

We arrived after a long flight to what we thought was going to be the start of a few days of luxury prior to some travel throughout Cuba. We were dropped off by the taxi driver who was a bit confused by the location. On entering the foyer we were immediately put off by the dirty glass in the main doors and the unkempt appearance of the seating. We checked in and was given a room with instructions on how to get to it. The room was on the ground floor and on entering was found to be dark and dingy. The room consisted of two 3/4 beds, which had dirty foot clothes at the base of the bed. There were marks over the walls and no light in the ceiling. We went back to the reception to complain as we had booked a standard king bed room and there appeared to be no swimming pool or restaurants. We were told that because we did not pick an all inclusive room, therefore we were given a room at Las Palmas instead of the main hotel Starfish Cuatro Palmas, which was across the road and we were not made aware of at the time of booking. We then had to negotiate an inclusive fee that would give us access to the beach and restaurant and told we could not move as the Starfish Cuatro Palmas was full. However, we could change the room to one with one king bed within Las Palmas, which was in a better condition to the first room.

Upon arrival our reservation could not be found. After arguing for over an hour in the scorching heat and humidity (did not want to turn on AC in lobby), insulted repeatedly by hotel front desk, and spent over $100 trying to call Expedia by conferencing from Canada only to be put on hold for over 25mins, we were given a singular option. We were told to pay one night at 130 CUC currency and that in the morning reservations would try to contact Expedia. After 8 days, what do you need to know: - the staff lies about absolutely everything such as the is no mattress bed sheet and you are left to sleep in the bare mattress after repeatedly asking for more bed sheets - no amenities or welcomed water and when told you must buy in vending machine at other flagship hotel (cuatro Palmas) security hassles you, follows you around and states you are not allowed to be in the premises - no soap, no toilet paper - ant infestation - AC no workling properly - zero communication about where breakfast is being served --- they moved the breakfast into main flagship hotel (cuatro Palmas) and did not post a sign nor tell any of the guests. When on the 2nd day we figured it out, security follows us around, harasses us that we are not allowed to be at the main hotel and holds us for more the. 10minutes - we were told to pay $35CUC per day per adult if we wanted to access the beach, umbrellas and chairs. We were then told we only had access to the "water" if we did not pay The list goes on

No hotels aren't really spectacular in veradero but this one was in a great area. Had AC decent bathroom and decent beds with a nice balcony. Staff was friendly. There was a guard who was outside all the buildings. Breakfast was not good but it's hard to find breakfast in the area. We bought all inclusive to the sister hotel for 35cuc a day per person which was nice because we had all meals and all drinks and access to pool and beach chairs.

Cuba gone wrong!
Our stay at the Starfish Las Palmas was THE WORST! First off, when we checked in we got hit with an additional $70 fee because my reservation only stated that one person would be staying there. Mind you there are no amenities at this location. If you want to enjoy the amenities at their parent property across the street that is an additional $35/pp. Being that American cards do not work in Cuba, we were on a very strict daily cash budget. Even after explaining this to the receptionist we still had to use $70 of our cash budget to cover this unexpected cost. We arrived before check-in with the hope that we might be able to check in early. The receptionist told us that the room was not clean yet. Other guest were also sitting in the lobby waiting to check in as well. Miraculously, at 4:00 everyone's room was ready. When we finally got in the room it smelled of mildew. The bathroom had ants trailing the floor and walls and there was sand on the towel bar. The sheets had a damp feel to them and the pillows had a smell as well.There was absolutely no way this room had been cleaned! Good thing I had packed some Lysol spray. The following afternoon I asked one of the maids for some extra towels since we were not given any. The maid told me she would not have anymore until TOMORROW! That was pretty absurd to me so I then went and asked the receptionist and she said she would get some from their parent hotel. NEVER HAPPENED. I would definitely NOT recommend this hotel!

Positive: Starfish Las Palmas is a nice budget hotel that is part of the Starfish chain. There is the main - Starfish Cuatros Palmas - one block away. The hotel staff for Starfish Las Palmas is very professional, helpful, and friendly. The rooms were clean and maintained daily. The breakfast was great, plenty of options to choose from. Negative: Be advised that when booking a room for two guests, both guests must be present for check-in (guest with name on reservation). A friend and I booked a room, he arrived six hours earlier than I did (we were meeting up at the hotel), the hotel staff was notified of separate check-in and confirmed that it was not a problem. When my friend showed up, he was left to wait six hours, even though I had called earlier. This was undue stress because of the lack of communication capabilities in Cuba. There is a lack of information when we arrived at the hotel. For example, the breakfast hours were not posted, the purchase of Wi-Fi prepaid cards were required to use Wi-Fi in the lobby (no other Wi-Fi location) - not listed when we booked, and the loud music from the Calle 62 bar (to request a room further away from the music).

Die Sauberkeit der Zimmer liess zu wünschen übrig. Es lagen noch Haare überall im Bad, Fussnägel auf dem Balkon und die Handtücher wurden erst gewechselt nachdem Trinkgeld floss. Ausserdem war es teilweise recht laut, weil bis Nachts Musik aus einer Bar zu hören war. Dafür war der Strand nach 5 Fußminuten schnell zu erreichen.

Accommodatie is duidelijk verouderd. Daarnaast tijdens ons verblijf geen warm water, kamerruil zou de volgende dag gebeuren maar toen waren de kamers op. Late uitchecktijd was een alternatief, echter was toen de pas van de deur geblokkeerd. Nadat we binnen waren, werd deze weer geblokkeerd en konden we ook de kluis niet openen, hier werd niet op geanticipeerd. Na meermaals bellen en naar de receptie gaan werd 2 uur later deze uiteindelijk voor ons geopend. Excuses waren minstens op zijn plaats geweest.

Vi var fyra vänner som hade 2st hotellrum. Vi upplevde att det mesta var bra- Vi tyckte det var väldigt höga ljud i matsalen, av skrapande stolar och mycket skrammel med porslin. Vi råkade ut för ett missöde med våra dörrar, som inte gick att öppna. Det hjälpte inte med att programmera om dörrkorten. Vi behövde hjälp av cecurity, som kunde öppna ena hotelldörren den andra dörren fick dom bryta sig in. Vilket gjorde att vi fick byta rum. Skön strand

a cause du manque de propreté on a était obligé de quité l’hotel Starfish Las Palmas le lendemain. Parce que le 1er jour de notre arrivé, la chambre été très sale, la literie non propre, les murs noire de moisissures avec une odeur étouffante, plein d’insects rampantes, La sale de bain aussi était non nettoyée et pas d’eau chaude. Pour prendre le petit-déjeuner on devait se déplacer vers l’établissement principalement qui se trouvait dans une autre avenue. Car celui la avait l’air abandonné. la mauvaise expérience dans toute ma vie.

Das Hotel ist nahe des Zentrums und dementsprechend laut - bis ca 3 Uhr nachts war an Schlaf nicht zu denken. Die Möglichkeiten die das Hotel bietet sind sehr auf Alkoholkonsum und Feierlichkeiten ausgelegt, die musikalische Untermalung überschritt zumeist die erforderliche Lautstärke. Unser Zimmer war ca. 5 Gehminuten vom Hotel Kern entfernt, auf der anderen Straßenseite, was eine zusätzliche Unbequemlichkeit bot. Für einen ruhigen Urlaub AM Strand (Honeymoon in unserem Fall) keinesfalls zu empfehlen. Der starrnd allerdings war wunderschön weiß und das Wasser wunderbar karibisch türkis.

Attention chambres de l’autre côté de la rue
Pour une nuit le prix de l hôtel est très cher pour seulement la chambre, tout en sachant que la chambre ne se situe pas dans le complexe principale mais à une rue de l autre côté de la rue. La chambre n’est pas prête avant 16:00 ( pile), nous avons eu le malheur de demander à 15:58 la clé et la dame nous a dit encore 2 mins...

Ubicación muy buena, a pocos metros de la playa y cerca del pueblo, con muchas opciones de restaurantes y ocio cercano. No me gustó que no se pudiera usar la piscina ni las hamacas de playa del hotel principal.

Location is good at the evening. Staff is friendly apart from the last day, a security guy behaved very bad with us. Rooms are ok even if expensive for the price paid. Anyway I would recomend it.

Très décevant & peu recommandable
la photo ne correspond pas aux chambres. personnel d'accueil pas du tout aimable durant les 2 jours de notre séjour peut importe les questions posées. nous étions en formule "petit déjeuner compris" et non "all inclusive", nous avions voulu aller boire un verre à notre arrivée sous 30° après 4h de voyage et nous avons été rattrapé par la sécurité qui nous a limite engueulés car le bar était réservé uniquement aux clients all inclusive plutôt que de nous expliquer le fonctionnement (non expliqué par l'accueil à notre arrivée). pas très appréciable... nous étions dans l'établissement pour les non "all inclusive", pas pratique pour le petit déjeuner qui se prend en face dans l'établissement principal. voiturettes qui sont censées vous aider avec les valises mais aucune proposition d'aide. service inexistant dans la salle du petit déjeuner. lits non faits après 10h lorsque nous avons quitté la chambre.

Gli appartamenti sono Sufficientemente puliti. A pochi metri dalla spiaggia di Varadero che è uno spettacolo . Ma veniamo agli aspetti negativi. Gli appartamenti affacciano su un laghetto artificiale con acqua stagnante che sono pieni di zanzare notte e giorno e ti costringono a stare chiusi in camera , quindi si è costretti ad accendere aria condizionata notte e giorno. La colazione che si fa presso l’hotel di fronte non è assolutamente per un hotel che si dichiara solo sulla carta di questo livello. Pessima la qualità e mosche che si poggiano ovunque sul cibo. Capisco che siamo ai Caraibi ma visto i prezzi un po’ più di pulizia sarebbe gradita. Non ci tornerei assolutamente
